ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ni(C(8)H(5)Cl(2)N(3)OS)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(CH(3)OH)], the Ni(II) atom is octa-hedrally coordinated by one N, one O and one S atom from a 3,5-dichloro-2-oxidobenzaldehyde thio-semicarbazonate ligand, another O atom from methanol and another two N atoms from 1,10-phenanthroline. The crystal structure is constructed by N-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯N, C-H⋯S and O-H⋯S hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The Zn(II) atom in the title compound, [Zn(C(8)H(7)N(3)O(2)S)(C(12)H(8)N(2))]·2C(2)H(6)OS·H(2)O, is N,N'-chelated by the N-heterocycle and N,O,S-chelated by the deprotonated Schiff base in a distorted square-pyramidal enviroment. Hydrogen bonds link the mononuclear mol-ecule, the water and the dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) mol-ecules into a linear chain motif. One DMSO mol-ecule is disordered over two positions in respect of the S atom in an approximate 1:1 ratio.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cd(NO(2))(C(22)H(20)N(6))(CH(3)OH)]ClO(4), the Cd(II) ion is in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal CdN(4)O(3) coordination geometry. The dihedral angles formed between the mean planes of the pyrazole rings and the phenanthroline ring system are 4.37 (19) and 5.84 (21)°. In the crystal, the anions and cations are connected by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, while pairs of weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the cations into centrosymmetric dimers. In addition, there is a π-π stacking inter-action involving two symmetry-related benzene rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.437 (3) Å.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(2)HCl(2)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Cu-N = 1.994 (3) and 2.027 (3) Å] and two O atoms from dichloro-acetate ligands and a water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 1.971 (2) and 1.939 (2) Å]. One O atom from another dichloro-acetate ligand occupies the apical positon [Cu-O = 2.152 (3) Å]. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Hg(SCN)(2)(C(14)H(12)N(2))], contains two complex mol-ecules in which the Hg(II) atoms are both four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral configuration by two N atoms from a chelating 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline ligand and by two S atoms from two thio-cyanate anions. The 1,10-phenanthroline ligand is slightly folded for one complex, the dihedral angle between the pyridine planes being 5.3 (1)°. In contrast it is nearly planar [0.5 (1)°] as it complexes with the other Hg(II) atom. The thio-cyanate ligands are virtually linear and the S atom is bonded to Hg(II) with N⋯S-Hg angles ranging from 99.3 (1) to 103.5 (1)°. Despite the presence of six aromatic rings in the asymmetric unit, there are no significant inter-molecular π-π contacts between phenanthroline ligands as the centroid-centroid distance of the closest contact between six-membered rings is 4.11 (1) A°.

The carboxylate groups of the DNBA anions exhibit three coordination modes: bidentate chelating, bidentate chelating-bridging and tridentate chelating-bridging. The center of the mol-ecule is located on a crystallographic center of inversion.
