ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(13)H(9)Cl(2)N(3)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))]·CH(3)OH, the Co(II) atom is octahedrally coordinated by two N atoms from the pyridyl rings of the tridentate N'-(3,5-dichloro-2-hydroxy-benzyl-idene)pyridine-4-carbohydrazide (H(2)L) ligand, two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two chloride ions. The acyl-hydrazone groups are not involved into the coordination of the metal ion. In the crystal packing an extended three-dimensional network formed by N-H?Cl, N-H?O, O-H?N, O-H?N and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds is observed.

Project description:The title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(21)H(17)ClN(2))]·0.5CH(2)Cl(2), crystallizes from dichloro-methane as a 2:1 solvate [CoCl(2)L](2)·CH(2)Cl(2) (L is 2-chloro-9-mesityl-1,10-phenanthroline). There are two independent CoCl(2)L mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit and both mol-ecules have similar conformations. They are connected by a weak C-H?? inter-action involving the mesityl ring. The cobalt center is four-coordinated by the two N-atom donors of the bidentate ligand and two chloride ions in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The packing of the mol-ecules is stabilized by weak slipped ?-? stacking inter-actions between symmetry-related phenanthroline groups.

Project description:In the title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))], the Pd(2+) ion is four-coordinated in a slightly distorted square-planar environment by two N atoms of the chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two chloride ions. The nearly planar mol-ecules, with a maximum deviation of 0.120?(3)?Å from the least-squares plane, are stacked in columns along the c axis with a Pd?Pd distance of 4.8340?(9)?Å. In the column, ?-? inter-actions between adjacent six-membered rings are present, the shortest centroid-centroid distance being 3.680?(4)?Å. Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(13)H(11)N(3)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))](NO(3))(2), the Cu(II )atom (site symmetry 2) is coordinated by four N atoms from one 1,10-phenanthroline and two hydrazine ligands, respectively. The hydrazine ligands coordinate to the Cu(II)atom by a pyridine N atom. These four atoms form a slightly distorted square-planar N(4) donor set. In the packing, two additional Cu?O inter-actions occur [Cu?O = 2.462?(2)?Å], resulting in a typical Jahn-Teller-distorted octahedral environment around the Cu atom. N-H?O hydrogen bonds result in a three-dimensional network. The O atoms of the anion are disordered over two positions in a 0.68?(2):0.32?(2) ratio.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(5))(C(14)H(12)N(2))]·3H(2)O, there are two independent neutral mol-ecules of the Cu complex along with six mol-ecules of water of hydration in the asymmetric unit. The Cu(II )atoms in each complex adopt a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry being penta-coordinated by one N and two O atoms of 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two N atoms of 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dmp) molecules. In the crystal structure, there are O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and five ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.620?(1)-3.712?(1)?Å. In addition, a C-H?? inter-action between a heterocyclic ring of dmp is observed to reinforce the crystal cohesion.
