ABSTRACT: The imidazopyridine ring system in the title compound, C(9)H(8)BrN(3)S, is almost planar [r.m.s. deviation of the C and N atoms = 0.007?(1)?Å]. The S and methyl-ene C atoms connected to the five-membered ring lie within this plane. The remaining two methyl-ene groups of the thia-zine ring are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.817?(5):0.183?(5) ratio.

Project description:The title compound, C(24)H(18)BrNO, consists of an envelope-configured oxazine ring with a fused 8-bromo-1,3-diphenyl group and two bonded phenyl rings. The dihedral angles between the mean planes of the 8-bromo-1,3-diphenyl and the phenyl rings are 54.5?(6) and 87.4?(8)°, respectively. The oxazine is essentially coplanar with the 8-bromo-1,3-diphenyl [dihedral angle = 9.4?(1)°]. Weak C-H?? inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, C(18)H(20)N(2)O(2), was prepared by Mannich-type reaction of phenol, ethane-1,2-diamine and formaldehyde. The heterocyclic rings adopt half-chair conformations. The acyclic methyl-ene groups attached to the N atoms are in an axial position. In the crystal, weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into dimers. These dimers are further connected via C-H?? contacts.

Bioresearch of New 1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine-1,3(2H)-diones.

Project description:The subject of the work was the synthesis of new derivatives of1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine-1,3(2H)-dione with potential analgesic and sedative activity. Eight compounds werereceived. The analgesic activity of the new compounds was confirmed in the "hot plate" test and in the "writhing" test. All tested imides 8-15 were more active in the "writhing" test than aspirin, and two of them, 9 and 11, were similar to morphine. In addition, all of the new imides inhibited the locomotor activity in mice to a statistically significant extent, and two of them also prolonged the duration of thiopental sleep.On the basis of the results obtained for the previously synthesized imides and the results presented in this paper, an attempt was madeto determine the relationship between thechemical structure of imides and their analgesic and sedativeproperties.
