ABSTRACT: The anion of the title compound, C(5)H(6)N(+)·C(5)H(2)NO(4)S(-), is approximately planar, with the carboxyl-ate and nitro group planes forming dihedral angles of 7.5?(3) and 3.5?(3)°, respectively, with the thio-phene ring. In the crystal structure, the cations and anions are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to (011) by N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, C(9)H(13)NO(2)S, the mean planes of thio-phene ring [maximum deviation = 0.0042 (10) Å] and eth-oxy-carbonyl group [0.0242 (15) Å] are almost coplanar [dihedral angle between them = 0.68 (11)°]. The H atoms of the two methyl groups attached to the thio-phene ring are each disordered over two orientations with site-occupancy ratios of 0.77 (4):0.23 (4) and 0.84 (4):0.16 (4). An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into an infinite wave-like chain running parallel to the b-axis direction. The crystal structure also features C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:In the title salt, C6H10N3O2 (+)·C5H3O2S(-), the 2-amino-4,6-di-meth-oxy-pyrimidinium cation inter-acts with the carboxyl-ate group of the thio-phene-2-carboxyl-ate anion through a pair of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming an R 2 (2)(8) ring motif. These motifs are centrosymmetrically paired via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a complementary DDAA array. The separate DDAA arrays are linked by π-π stacking inter-actions between the pyrimidine rings, as well as by a number of weak C-H⋯O and N-H⋯O inter-actions. In the anion, the dihedral angle between the ring plane and the CO2 group is 11.60 (3)°. In the cation, the C atoms of methoxy groups deviate from the ring plane by 0.433 (10) Å.
