In the crystal structure, the ions and water mol-ecules are linked via O-H?O, O-H?Cl and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to (101).

The cation is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.006?(2)?Å. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H?O, N-H?Cl and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, thereby forming sheets lying parallel to (100). The crystal structure is further stabilized by aromatic ?-? stacking inter-actions between the pyridinium rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.4789?(9)?Å].

The cations and anions are packed as alternate layers parallel to (11[Formula: see text]). The crystal structure is further stabilized by a π-π inter-action between the pyridinium and benzene rings of the cations, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.5492 (4) Å.

Project description:Cocrystallization of benzimidazole with benzene 1,3,5-tricarb-oxy-lic acid in slightly basic medium afforded the title compound, C(7)H(7)N(2) (+)·C(9)H(5)O(6) (-)·3H(2)O, in which one of the imidazole N atom is protonated and one carb-oxy-lic group of aromatic acid is deprotonated. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding connects the two organic components into dimers, which are further linked into a three-dimensional network by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O inter-actions between the water mol-ecules and the dimers.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Cu(C(9)H(8)NO(4))(2)](n), the Cu atom, located on a twofold rotation axis, is four coordinate in a distorted square-planar environment. Each 2,6-dimethyl-pyridinium-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate anion bridges two Cu atoms, forming a two-dimensional coordination polymer. A three-dimensional supra-molecular network is built from N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the pyridinium NH and the carboxyl COO groups.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C(7)H(10)N(+)·Br(-), comprises two 2,6-dimethyl-pyridinium cations and two bromide anions. One cation and one anion are situated in general positions, while the other cation and the other anion lie on a crystallographic mirror plane parallel to (010). Each pair of ions inter-act via N-H?Br and C-H?Br hydrogen bonding, generating motifs depending on the cation and anion involved. Thus, the cation and the anion on the mirror plane generate infinite chains along the c axis, while the other ionic pair leads to sheets parallel to the ac plane. In the overall crystal packing, both motifs alternate along the b axis, with a single layer of the chain motif sandwiched between two double layers of the sheet motif. The sheets and chains are further connected via aryl ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.690?(2) and 3.714?(2)?Å], giving a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title salt, C37H51N2O10(+)·Br(-), the 1,4-dihydro-pyridine (1,4-DHP) ring adopts a slighly puckered boat conformation. The N and opposite C atoms deviate from the least-squares plane calculated through the four other ring atoms by 0.068?(5) and 0.224?(5)?Å, respectively. The orientation of both C=O groups is similar (cis with respect to the double bonds of 1,4-DHP. The pyridinium ring has an axial orientation with respect to the1,4-DHP ring and is almost perpendicular to the least-squares plane of the 1,4-DHP ring, making a dihedral angle of 89.2?(3)°. The mol-ecule has a compact shape due to the parallel orientation of the long-chain substituents. One of the but-oxy groups was fond to be disordered (occupancy ratio 0.70:0.30). In the crystal, the bromide anion accepts a weak hydrogen bond from the N-H group of a neighboring 1,4-DHP ring.

The equatorial plane is formed by two N atoms and one O atom from 6-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)picolinate and by one N atom from pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate (pdc). Two pdc O atoms occupy the axial positions. Water mol-ecules are hydrogen bonded to the complex mol-ecules, forming a two-dimensional sheet structure.
