ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(15)H(20)O(7), the benzene ring makes dihedral angles of 69.17?(5) and 80.81?(4)° with the two side chains of malonate. The two malonate side chains comprising C/C/O/C atoms are oriented at right angles [86.26?(6)°] with respect to each other. In the crystal structure, the crystal packing is stabilized by weak non-classical inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the mol-ecules into an infinite network.

Project description:In the title salt, C(26)H(29)N(2) (+)·Br(-), which may serve as a precursor for N-heterocyclic carbenes, the imidazolidine ring adopts a twist conformation with a pseudo-twofold axis passing through the N-C-N carbon and the opposite C-C bond. The N-C-N bond angle [113.0?(4)°] and C-N bond lengths [1.313?(6) and 1.305?(6)?Å] confirm the existence of strong resonance in this part of the mol-ecule. In the crystal, a C-H?Br inter-action is present. The dihedral angle between the biphenyl rings is 64.3?(2)° and the phenyl rings make angles of 76.6?(3) and 18.5?(3)° with the plane of the imidazolidine ring.

Project description:In the title compound, C(19)H(15)NO(4), the acridine system is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.015?Å). The crystal packing exhibits ?-? inter-actions between pairs of centrosymmetric mol-ecules, one of them between the central heterocyclic rings and others between the outer benzene rings of the acridine systems, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.692?(1) and 3.754?(1)?Å, respectively. Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title nicotinonitrile derivative, C(23)H(21)BrN(2)O(4), there are two non-planar independent mol-ecules. The central pyridine ring makes dihedral angles of 9.05?(7) and 77.06?(7)°, respectively, with the 4-bromo-phenyl and 2,4,6-trimethoxy-phenyl rings in one mol-ecule, whereas the corresponding values are 5.96?(7) and 82.37?(7)° in the other. All the three meth-oxy groups are essentially in the plane of the attached benzene ring [C-O-C-C angles = 2.99?(19), 4.8?(2) and -6.2?(2)° in one mol-ecule, and 2.69?(18), 176.73?(15) and 1.3?(2)° in the other]. The eth-oxy group is slightly twisted in one mol-ecule [C-C-O-C = 173.84?(12)°], whereas it is coplanar with the pyridine ring in the other [C-C-O-C = -177.23?(13)°]. Weak intra-molecular C-H?N inter-actions generate S(5) ring motifs. In the crystal structure, the mol-ecules are linked by weak inter-molecular C-H?N and C-H?O inter-actions into a supra-molecular three-dimensional network in such a way that the nicotinonitrile units of neighboring mol-ecules are stacked in an anti-parallel manner along the c axis. The crystal is further stabilized by C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:A new ruthenium complex, [RuBrCl(C(28)H(32)N(2))], has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, IR-spectroscopy and a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study. The Ru atom in this complex is best described as having a considerably distorted octa-hedral coordination environment with the arene occupying three coordination sites. Two further coordination sites are occupied by chloride and bromide ligands, while the sixth site is occupied by the carbene. The carbene portion of the ligand is a benzimidazole ring. This ring is connected to the C(6)H(4)C(CH(3))(3) arene by a CH(2) bridge. This leads to a system with very little apparent strain. The two halogen atoms are disordered between Br and Cl. Two partial Cl atoms share the same sites as two partial Br atoms so that the title compound effectively has one Cl and one Br atom. C-H⋯X (X = Cl, Br) hydrogen bonds help to stabilize the crystal structure.
