ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Sn(4)Br(2)(C(6)H(5))(8)O(2)(OH)(2)], the four tin(IV) atoms are bridged by the hydroxo and oxo ligands, forming a ladder-like array of three edge-connected Sn(2)O(2) squares. The two independent tin atoms show distorted trigonal-bipyramidal SnC(2)O(3) and SnC(2)O(2)Br coordination geometries.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Sn(4)(C(7)H(6)Cl)(8)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)O(2)(OH)(2)], comprises one-half of the centrosymmetric tin(IV) complex. ?(3)-Oxide and ?(2)-hydroxide bridges link the four five-coordinate Sn(IV) atoms to generate three fused four-membered Sn-O-Sn-O rings in a ladder-like structure. The two endocyclic Sn atoms each bind to two ?(3)-oxide anions and a ?(2)-hydroxide ligand, together with two 2-chloro-benzyl groups. The exocyclic Sn atoms each carry a monodentate phenyl-acetate ligand, two 2-chloro-benzyl groups, and ?(3)-oxide and ?(2)-hydroxide ligands. Both types of Sn atoms adopt a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H?O inter-actions involving the ?(2)-hydroxide ligands and the C=O group of the phenyl-acetate ligand.

Project description:The title stannoxane is a toluene-solvated dimer, [Sn(4)(C(7)H(6)Cl)(8)Cl(2)O(2)(OH)(2)]·C(7)H(8), the tetra-nuclear mol-ecule lying across a center of inversion. The Sn(4)O(4) framework, whose two independent Sn atoms show trigonal bipyramidal coordination, is essentially planar (r.m.s deviation = 0.02 Å). One of the two chloro-benzyl groups of the chloridodiorganyltin unit is disordered over two positions with the chloro-phenyl residue refined over two positions in a 50:50 ratio. The solvent mol-ecule is disordered about a twofold axis.

One Cl atom of a chloro-benzyl ligand is disordered over two sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.693?(2):0.307?(2).

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(4)(CH(3))(8)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(4)O(2)], is a distann-oxane derivative of 2-methyl-benzoic acid. The crystal structure is composed of centrosymmetric dimers lying about inversion centres. Both independent Sn atoms adopt distorted trigonal-bipyramidal SnC(2)O(3) coordination geometries with the basal planes consisting of two C-atoms from the methyl groups and a bridging O atom. The Sn-C and Sn-O bond lengths lie in the ranges 2.090 (2)-2.104 (3) and 2.0241 (14)-2.2561 (15) Å, respectively. The central four-membered planar Sn(2)O(2) ring [Sn⋯Sn distance = 3.2993 (2) Å] makes dihedral angles of 5.43 (11) and 59.50 (7)° with the methyl-phenyl groups, which are themselves oriented at a dihedral angle of 61.38 (8)°. Besides weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions, the packing mainly features van der Waals forces between the mol-ecules.

Project description:The ladder-like structure of the tetranuclear title compound, [Sn(4)(C(6)H(5))(4)Cl(2)O(2)(OH)(2)(C(9)H(13)N)(2)(C(9)H(12)N)(2)]Cl(2)·10CDCl(3), consists of two five- and two six-coordinated Sn(IV) atoms bridged by oxide or hydroxide groups. The chelating ligands reveal rather strong Sn-N bonds [2.517 (4) Å], but the protonated dimethylamino groups in the periphery of the complex show no interaction with the metal atoms. The complex cation is located on an inversion centre. The chloride anion is linked to the complex mol-ecule by strong intra-molecular O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. Five independent deuterochloroform accompany the complex, two of them are disordered [occupancy ratios 0.63 (2):0.27 (2) and 0.60 (2):0.40 (2)].

Project description:The title compounds, [Sn3(CH3)9(OH)2(H2O)2][Sn(CH3)3(CHO2)2] (1) and [Sn3(CH3)9(OH)2]Cl·H2O (2), are partially condensed products of hydrolysed tri-methyl-tin chloride. In the structures of 1 and 2, short cationic tris-tannatoxanes (C9H29O2Sn3) are bridged by a diformatotri-methyl-tin anion or a chloride anion, respectively. Hydrogen bridges are present and supposedly stabilize these structures against further polymerization to the known polymeric tri-methyl-tin hydroxide. Especially noteworthy is that the formate present in this structure was formed from atmospheric CO2.

Project description:The title tetra-nuclear Sn(IV) complex, [Sn(4)(C(4)H(9))(8)(C(10)H(6)NO(2))(4)O(2)], is a cluster built up by inversion symmetry around the central Sn(2)O(2) ring. The coordination geometries of the Sn atoms involved can be classified into two types: the five-coordinate Sn atoms of the central Sn(2)O(2) core have a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, with axial positions occupied by a μ(3)-O atom and a μ(2)-O atom belonging to the nonchelating quinaldate ligand. The peripheral Sn atoms are six-coordinate, with a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The methyl group of an n-butyl ligand is disordered over two sites, with occupancies of 0.643 (12) and 0.357 (12).

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Sn(4)(CH(3))(8)(C(6)H(5)O(2)S)(4)O(2)], the central four-membered planar ring (Sn(2)O(2)) makes dihedral angles of 66.28 (12) and 77.43 (11)° with the heterocyclic rings of the bridging and monodentate ligands, respectively. One Sn(IV) atom adopts a distorted SnO(3)C(2) trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, with both C atoms in equatorial sites and the other a grossly distorted SnO(4)C(2) octa-hedral or irregular arrangement. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are connected into pillar-like polymeric units making R(2) (2)(12) ring motifs due to inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions. C-H⋯π inter-actions are also present. The O atoms of the chelating ligands and the S atom of the monodentate ligand are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.65 (6):0.35 (6) ratio.
