ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[Pr(2)(C(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n), the three-dimensional network structure has the Pr(III) ion coordinated by nine O atoms in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules inter-act with the carboxyl-ate O atoms to consolidate the network via O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, {[Er2(C4H2O4)2(C2O4)(H2O)4]·4H2O} n , was synthesized by the reaction of erbium nitrate hexa-hydrate with fumaric acid and oxalic acid under hydro-thermal conditions. The Er(3+) cation (site symmetry ..2) is eight-coordinated by six O atoms from four fumarate anions (site symmetry ..2) and one bidentate oxalate anion (site symmetry 222), and by two water mol-ecules. The complex exhibits a three-dimensional structure consisting of oxalate pillared Er-fumarate layers with channels occupied by coordinating and lattice water mol-ecules. The three-dimensional structure features by Owater-H?O hydrogen bonds involving both the coordinating and lattice water mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, {[Nd(2)(C(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n), was synthesized hydro-thermally in the presence of bis-(carb-oxy-ethyl-germanium) sesquioxide. It is isostructural with the corresponding Pr compound [Yang et al. (2009). Acta Cryst. E65, m1152-m1153]. The Nd(3+) cation is nine-coordinated and its coordination polyhedron can be described as a distorted tricapped trigonal prism. Two Nd(3+) ions are connected by two O atoms from two oxalate ions to give a dinuclear Nd(2) unit. The unit is further linked to four others via four oxalate ions yielding a layerparallel to (0-11). The linkages between the layers by neighbouring oxalate anions lead to a three-dimensional framework with channels along the c axis. The coordinating and free water mol-ecules are located in the channels and make contact with each other and the host framework by weak O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, {[AgSm(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(C(2)O(4))]·H(2)O}(n), the asymmetric unit contains one Sm(III) ion, one Ag(I) ion, two unique isonicotinate (ina) ligands, two half oxalate (ox) ligands (one on an inversion centre, the other on a twofold axis) and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The central Sm(III) ion is nine-coordinated by four O-donor atoms from separate bidentate bridging ox ligands and five O-donor atoms from the two ina ligands (both bidentate) and a symmetry-related ina ligand [Sm-O = 2.389?(4)-2.791?(4)?Å], giving a distorted monocapped square anti-prismatic geometry. The Ag(I) ion is three-coordinated in a T-shaped geometry involving two ina N-donor atoms [Ag-N = 2.181?(6) and 2.185?(5)?Å] and a bridging oxalate O-donor atom [Ag-O = 2.620?(4)?Å]. The three-dimensional heterometallic Sm-Ag coordination polymer, having a unique (3,4,6)-connected five-nodal net topology, is constructed from two-dimensional samarium-oxalate layers and pillared Ag(ina)(2) subunits. Inter-molecular water-carboxyl-ate O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are also present.

The Dy(III) atom is chelated by four oxalate anions, two of which are situated on two different centres of inversion. The distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic coordination sphere of the Dy(III) atom is completed by a water mol-ecule. The bridging mode of the anions results in the formation of a three-dimensional network with cavities where the ammonium cations and the uncoordinated water mol-ecules reside. The structure is stabilized by numerous N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Various O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions stabilize the crystal structure. The title complex is isotypic with the Eu and Dy analogues.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Dy2(C6H8O4)(C2O4)2(H2O)2] n , the asymmetric unit consists of one Dy(3+) cation, one half of an adipate anion, two halves of oxalate anions and one coordinating water mol-ecule. The adipate and oxalate ions are located on centres of inversion. The Dy(3+) cation has a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry and is coordinated by nine O atoms, four belonging to three adipate anions, four to two oxalate anions and one from an aqua ligand. The cations are bridged by adipate ligands, generating a two-dimensional network parallel to (010). This network is further extended into three dimensions by coordination of the rigid oxalate ligands and is further consolidated by O-H?O hydrogen bonds. A part of the adipate anion is disordered over two positions in a 0.75:0.25 ratio.

Project description:In title compound, {(C(2)H(10)N(2))(0.5)[In(C(2)O(4))(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), the unique In(III) ion is coordinated by eight O atoms from four oxalate ligands in a distorted square-anti-prismatic environment. The doubly bis-chelating oxalate ligands act as bridging ligands connecting symmetry-related In(III) ions and forming a three-dimensional open framework structure. Ethyl-enediammonium cations and water mol-ecules occupy the voids within the structure. The unique ethyl-enediammonium cation and one water mol-ecule both lie on a twofold rotation axis. One of the other two water mol-ecules residing on general crystallographic sites was refined as disordered with half occupancy. In the crystal structure, cations and water mol-ecules are linked to the anionic framework via inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds.
