ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [KYb(C(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](n), the Yb(III) ion lies on a site of [Formula: see text] symmetry in a dodeca-hedral environment defined by eight O atoms from four oxalate ligands. The K atom lies on a different [Formula: see text] axis and is coordinated by four O atoms from four oxalate ligands and four water O atoms. The oxalate ligand has an inversion center at the mid-point of the C-C bond. The metal ions are linked by the oxalate ligands into a three-dimensional framework. O-H?O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

The K atom lies on another site of the same symmetry and is coordinated by four oxalate O atoms and four O water atoms. The mid-point of the C-C bond of the oxalate group lies on an inversion center. In the packing structure, each oxalate ligand links two Lu(III) and two K atoms, forming a three-dimensional open framework with channels running along [001]. Inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds occur.

Project description:The title compound, {[Er2(C4H2O4)2(C2O4)(H2O)4]·4H2O} n , was synthesized by the reaction of erbium nitrate hexa-hydrate with fumaric acid and oxalic acid under hydro-thermal conditions. The Er(3+) cation (site symmetry ..2) is eight-coordinated by six O atoms from four fumarate anions (site symmetry ..2) and one bidentate oxalate anion (site symmetry 222), and by two water mol-ecules. The complex exhibits a three-dimensional structure consisting of oxalate pillared Er-fumarate layers with channels occupied by coordinating and lattice water mol-ecules. The three-dimensional structure features by Owater-H?O hydrogen bonds involving both the coordinating and lattice water mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, {(C(2)H(8)N)[Dy(C(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O}(n), was obtained as an unexpected product under hydro-thermal conditions. The Dy(III) atom is chelated by four oxalate anions, two of which are situated on two different centres of inversion. The distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic coordination sphere of the Dy(III) atom is completed by a water mol-ecule. The bridging mode of the anions results in the formation of a three-dimensional network with cavities where the ammonium cations and the uncoordinated water mol-ecules reside. The structure is stabilized by numerous N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Various O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions stabilize the crystal structure. The title complex is isotypic with the Eu and Dy analogues.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Dy2(C6H8O4)(C2O4)2(H2O)2] n , the asymmetric unit consists of one Dy(3+) cation, one half of an adipate anion, two halves of oxalate anions and one coordinating water mol-ecule. The adipate and oxalate ions are located on centres of inversion. The Dy(3+) cation has a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry and is coordinated by nine O atoms, four belonging to three adipate anions, four to two oxalate anions and one from an aqua ligand. The cations are bridged by adipate ligands, generating a two-dimensional network parallel to (010). This network is further extended into three dimensions by coordination of the rigid oxalate ligands and is further consolidated by O-H?O hydrogen bonds. A part of the adipate anion is disordered over two positions in a 0.75:0.25 ratio.

Project description:The title compound, {[Nd(2)(C(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n), was synthesized hydro-thermally in the presence of bis-(carb-oxy-ethyl-germanium) sesquioxide. It is isostructural with the corresponding Pr compound [Yang et al. (2009). Acta Cryst. E65, m1152-m1153]. The Nd(3+) cation is nine-coordinated and its coordination polyhedron can be described as a distorted tricapped trigonal prism. Two Nd(3+) ions are connected by two O atoms from two oxalate ions to give a dinuclear Nd(2) unit. The unit is further linked to four others via four oxalate ions yielding a layerparallel to (0-11). The linkages between the layers by neighbouring oxalate anions lead to a three-dimensional framework with channels along the c axis. The coordinating and free water mol-ecules are located in the channels and make contact with each other and the host framework by weak O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, {[AgSm(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(C(2)O(4))]·H(2)O}(n), the asymmetric unit contains one Sm(III) ion, one Ag(I) ion, two unique isonicotinate (ina) ligands, two half oxalate (ox) ligands (one on an inversion centre, the other on a twofold axis) and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The central Sm(III) ion is nine-coordinated by four O-donor atoms from separate bidentate bridging ox ligands and five O-donor atoms from the two ina ligands (both bidentate) and a symmetry-related ina ligand [Sm-O = 2.389?(4)-2.791?(4)?Å], giving a distorted monocapped square anti-prismatic geometry. The Ag(I) ion is three-coordinated in a T-shaped geometry involving two ina N-donor atoms [Ag-N = 2.181?(6) and 2.185?(5)?Å] and a bridging oxalate O-donor atom [Ag-O = 2.620?(4)?Å]. The three-dimensional heterometallic Sm-Ag coordination polymer, having a unique (3,4,6)-connected five-nodal net topology, is constructed from two-dimensional samarium-oxalate layers and pillared Ag(ina)(2) subunits. Inter-molecular water-carboxyl-ate O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are also present.

Crystal structure of catena-poly[[aquadi-n-propyl-tin(IV)]-?-oxalato].

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(C3H7)2(H2O)(C2O4)] n , represents the first diorganotin(IV) oxalate hydrate to be structurally characterized. The tin(IV) atom of the one-dimensional coordination polymer is located on a twofold rotation axis and is coordinated by two chelating oxalate ligands with two slightly different Sn-O bond lengths of 2.290?(2) and 2.365?(2)?Å, two symmetry-related n-propyl groups with a Sn-C bond lengths of 2.127?(3)?Å, and a water mol-ecule with a Sn-O bond length of 2.262?(2)?Å. The coordination polyhedron around the Sn(IV) atom is a slightly distorted penta-gonal bipyramid with a nearly linear axis between the trans-oriented n-propyl groups [C-Sn-C = 176.8?(1)°]. The bond angles between the oxygen atoms of the equatorial plane range from 70.48?(6)° to 76.12?(8)°. A one-dimensional coordination polymer results from the less asymmetric bilateral coordination of the centrosymmetric oxalate anion, inter-nally reflected by two slightly different C-O bond lengths of 1.248?(3) and 1.254?(3)?Å. The chains of the polymer propagate parallel to [001] and are held together by hydrogen bonds between water mol-ecules and oxalate anions of neighboring chains, leading to a two-dimensional network parallel to (100).
