Poly[hexa-aqua-bis(?(3)-terephthalato)(?(2)-terephthalato)diytterbium(III)].

ABSTRACT: In the title two-dimensional coordination polymer, [Yb(2)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(6)](n), the unique Yb(III) ion is eight-coordinated in a distorted dodeca-hedral coordination geometry by three water O atoms and five O atoms from carboxyl-ate groups belonging to four different terephthalate ligands. One of the terephthalate ligands is located around an inversion center. The coordination polymers are parallel to (121) and are connected by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, [Yb(2)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(2)(C(2)O(4))(H(2)O)(2)](n), features an extended three-dimensional framework made up of Yb(3+) ions coordinated by terephthalate ligands, oxalate ligands and water mol-ecules. The Yb(3+) ion has a distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination formed by one aqua ligand, two O atoms from an oxalate ligand and five O atoms belonging to four terephthalate anions. Two symmetry-independent terephthalate anions, as well as the oxalate anion, occupy special positions on inversion centers. The water molecule participates in O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding with both terephthalate anions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title heterometallic coordination polymer, {[Cu(3)Yb(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(6)(H(2)O)(12)]·2H(2)O}(n), contains one Yb(III) and two Cu(II) atoms. The Cu(II) atom that is located on an inversion center is N,O-chelated by two pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate (pdc) anions in a square-planar geometry; the Cu atom located on a general position is N,O-chelated by two pdc anions in the basal plane and is further coordinated by a water O atom at the apical position in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The Yb(III) atom is eight coordinated in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry formed by three carboxyl-ate O atoms from three pdc anions and five water mol-ecules. The pdc anions bridge adjacent Yb(III) and Cu(III) atoms, forming a three-dimensional polymeric structure. The crystal structure contains extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonds. ?-? stacking is present in the crystal structure, the shortest centroid-centroid distance between parallel pyridine rings of adjacent mol-ecules being 3.646?(3)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, [Sr(C(8)H(4)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), the Sr(II) atom exhibits coordination number eight, with six O atoms from four carboxylate groups (two bidentate and two monodentate) of terephthalate ligands and two water O atoms. The SrO(8) polyhedra are linked into inorganic chains by sharing three coplanar O atoms. These inorganic chains are extended along the b axis to form layers in the ab plane by O-C-O linking. Parallel layers are connected by terephthalic groups, forming a three-dimensional framework. O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are observed.

The Cu(II) cation is N,O-chelated by two pda anions in the coordination basal plane and further coordinated by two carboxyl O atoms at the apical positions, with an elongated octa-hedral geometry. The Yb(III) atom is eight-coordinated in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry formed by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two pda anions, and is N,O-chelated by one pda anion and four coordinated water mol-ecules. The pda anions bridge adjacent Yb and Cu cations, forming a three-dimensional polymeric structure. The crystal structure features extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonds. ?-? stacking is observed between parallel pyridine rings, the centroid-centroid distance being 3.843?(4)?Å.

Inter- and intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonding occurs in the structure. ?-? stacking further consolidates the crystal structure, the centroid-centroid distance between parallel pyridine rings being 3.367?(2)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, [Dy(2)(C(3)H(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(6)](n), forms a coordination polymeric structure comprising hydrated dysprosium ions and malonate ligands. In the asymmetric unit, there are one dysprosium ion, one and a half malonate ligands, and three water mol-ecules. Each Dy(III) atom is coordinated by six O atoms from four malonate ligands and by three water mol-ecules, and displays a tricapped trigonal-prismatic coordination geometry. The malonate ligands adopt two types of coordination mode, linking dysprosium centres to form a three-dimensional coordination polymer. Project description:In the title compound, [Mg(2)(C(7)H(10)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(6)](n), the Mg(II) ion is coordinated by three aqua ligands and three O atoms from three heptanedioato ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Each heptanedioato ligand bridges three Mg atoms, generating polymeric layers parallel to the bc plane. The polymeric layers related by translation along the a axis inter-act further via O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which consolidate the crystal packing.
