ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Sr(C(8)H(4)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), the Sr(II) atom exhibits coordination number eight, with six O atoms from four carboxylate groups (two bidentate and two monodentate) of terephthalate ligands and two water O atoms. The SrO(8) polyhedra are linked into inorganic chains by sharing three coplanar O atoms. These inorganic chains are extended along the b axis to form layers in the ab plane by O-C-O linking. Parallel layers are connected by terephthalic groups, forming a three-dimensional framework. O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are observed.

One of the terephthalate ligands is located around an inversion center. The coordination polymers are parallel to (121) and are connected by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the polymeric title compound, [Sr(C(10)H(6)O(6)S(2))(H(2)O)(2)](n), the naphthalene-2,7-disulfonate dianion uses one -SO(3) unit to bind to two Sr(II) cations and the other -SO(3) unit to bind to three Sr(II) cations; of the two coordinated water mol-ecules, one is monodentate to one Sr(II) cation, whereas the other bridges two Sr(II) cations. The ?(5)-bridging mode of the dianon and the ?(2)-bridging mode of the water mol-ecule generate a polymeric three-dimensional network which is consolidated by O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The Sr(II) cation exists in an undefined eight-coordinate environment.

Project description:In the title polymeric complex, [Sr(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Sr(II) atom is eight-coordinated by four O atoms and one N atom of four pyridine-2,4-dicarboxyl-ate (py-2,4-dc) ligands and three O atoms of three coordinated water mol-ecules in a dodeca-hedral geometry. These units are connected via the carboxyl-ate O atoms and water mol-ecules, building polymeric layers parallel to (100). Project description:The reaction of strontium(II) nitrate with the proton-transfer compound (pdaH(2))(py-3,5-dc)·H(2)O (where pda = propane-1,3-diamine and py-3,5-dcH(2) = pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid) leads to the formation of the title polymeric compound, [Sr(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(H(2)O)(4)](n). The propane-1,3-diaminium cation is not incorporated in this crystal structure. The Sr(II) atom lies on an inversion centre and is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from three py-3,5-dc ligands and four O atoms from four coordinated water mol-ecules. The coordination polyhedron of the Sr(II) atom is a distorted dodeca-hedron. These binuclear units are connected via the carboxyl-ate O atoms to build a one-dimensional polymeric chain. In the crystal structure, non-covalant inter-actions consisting of hydrogen bonds (X-H?O, with X = O and C) and ?-? stacking inter-actions [3.4604?(19)?Å] connect the various components to form a supra-molecular structure.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, {[Sr(C2H5NO2)2(H2O)3]Br2} n , the Sr(2+) ion and one of the water mol-ecules are located on twofold rotation axes. The alkaline earth ion is nine-coordinated by three water O atoms and six O atoms of the carboxyl-ate groups of four glycine ligands, two in a chelating mode and two in a monodentate mode. The glycine mol-ecule exists in a zwitterionic form and bridges the cations into chains parallel to [001]. The Br(-) counter-anions are located between the chains. Inter-molecular hydrogen bonds are formed between the amino and carboxyl-ate groups of neighbouring glycine ligands, generating a head-to-tail sequence. Adjacent head-to-tail sequences are further inter-connected by inter-molecular N-H⋯Br hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into sheets parallel to (100). O-H⋯Br and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the coordinating water mol-ecules are also present, consolidating the three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network.

Project description:The unit-cell parameters for the title mixed-metal coordination polymer, {[NiSr(C(3)H(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(5)]·2H(2)O}(n), which is isostructural with its Co-containing analogue, were reported previously [Gil de Muro et al. (1999 ?). Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. pp. 935-943]; the full crystal structure including a description of the hydrogen bonding is reported here. The Sr(2+) ion is bonded to five O atoms from three different malonate dianions and four water mol-ecules, displaying a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic coordination geometry. Two malonate dianions, two water mol-ecules and one Ni(2+) ion build up a dianionic [Ni(C(3)H(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2-) unit incorporating a slightly distorted NiO(6) octa-hedron, which coordinates to three nearby Sr(2+) ions. This arrangement creates a metal-organic framework having a 20-membered ring with four Ni and six Sr atoms lying in the bc plane. The coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules are responsible for the formation of two D5 hydrogen-bonded water chains within the 20-membered ring and they are linked into an R4 water cluster via two bifurcated O-H?(O,O) links.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, {[Sr(C5H9NO2)(H2O)4]Br2} n , the proline mol-ecule exists in a zwitterionic form with one of the ring C atoms disordered over two sites [site-occupancy factors = 0.57?(6):0.43?(6)]. The Sr(II) ion is nine-coordinated by six water O atoms, two monodentate and two ?2-bridging, and three carboxyl-ate O atoms of the proline ligands, with two bridging [Sr-O range = 2.524?(4)-2.800?(5)?Å]. In the crystal, there is no direct inter-action between the proline mol-ecules. However, the proline and water mol-ecules associate with the bromide counter-anions through a number of inter-molecular O-H?Br and N-H?Br hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, giving a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.
