ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Sr(C(8)H(4)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), the Sr(II) atom exhibits coordination number eight, with six O atoms from four carboxylate groups (two bidentate and two monodentate) of terephthalate ligands and two water O atoms. The SrO(8) polyhedra are linked into inorganic chains by sharing three coplanar O atoms. These inorganic chains are extended along the b axis to form layers in the ab plane by O-C-O linking. Parallel layers are connected by terephthalic groups, forming a three-dimensional framework. O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are observed.

Project description:In the title polymeric complex, [Sr(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Sr(II) atom is eight-coordinated by four O atoms and one N atom of four pyridine-2,4-dicarboxyl-ate (py-2,4-dc) ligands and three O atoms of three coordinated water mol-ecules in a dodeca-hedral geometry. These units are connected via the carboxyl-ate O atoms and water mol-ecules, building polymeric layers parallel to (100). In the crystal structure, non-covalent inter-actions consisting of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.862 (17) and 3.749 (17) Å] connect the various components, forming a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title two-dimensional coordination polymer, [Yb(2)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(6)](n), the unique Yb(III) ion is eight-coordinated in a distorted dodeca-hedral coordination geometry by three water O atoms and five O atoms from carboxyl-ate groups belonging to four different terephthalate ligands. One of the terephthalate ligands is located around an inversion center. The coordination polymers are parallel to (121) and are connected by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The reaction of strontium(II) nitrate with the proton-transfer compound (pdaH(2))(py-3,5-dc)·H(2)O (where pda = propane-1,3-diamine and py-3,5-dcH(2) = pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid) leads to the formation of the title polymeric compound, [Sr(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(H(2)O)(4)](n). The propane-1,3-diaminium cation is not incorporated in this crystal structure. The Sr(II) atom lies on an inversion centre and is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from three py-3,5-dc ligands and four O atoms from four coordinated water mol-ecules. The coordination polyhedron of the Sr(II) atom is a distorted dodeca-hedron. These binuclear units are connected via the carboxyl-ate O atoms to build a one-dimensional polymeric chain. In the crystal structure, non-covalant inter-actions consisting of hydrogen bonds (X-H⋯O, with X = O and C) and π-π stacking inter-actions [3.4604 (19) Å] connect the various components to form a supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, [Yb(2)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(2)(C(2)O(4))(H(2)O)(2)](n), features an extended three-dimensional framework made up of Yb(3+) ions coordinated by terephthalate ligands, oxalate ligands and water mol-ecules. The Yb(3+) ion has a distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination formed by one aqua ligand, two O atoms from an oxalate ligand and five O atoms belonging to four terephthalate anions. Two symmetry-independent terephthalate anions, as well as the oxalate anion, occupy special positions on inversion centers. The water molecule participates in O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding with both terephthalate anions.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the polymeric title compound, [Sr(C(10)H(6)O(6)S(2))(H(2)O)(2)](n), the naphthalene-2,7-disulfonate dianion uses one -SO(3) unit to bind to two Sr(II) cations and the other -SO(3) unit to bind to three Sr(II) cations; of the two coordinated water mol-ecules, one is monodentate to one Sr(II) cation, whereas the other bridges two Sr(II) cations. The ?(5)-bridging mode of the dianon and the ?(2)-bridging mode of the water mol-ecule generate a polymeric three-dimensional network which is consolidated by O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The Sr(II) cation exists in an undefined eight-coordinate environment.

Project description:The title complex, [CoNa(CO5P)(H2O)5]n, was obtained by reacting sodium phosphono-formate with cobalt nitrate. The complex contains cobalt(II) and sodium ions, which are bridged by the O atoms of two aqua ligands. The Co(II) ion is octahedrally coordinated by three phosphonoformato ligands (one bi- and the other monodentate) and by two O atoms from the bridging aqua ligands. The sodium cation is hexa-coordinated by six O atoms from four bridging and two terminal aqua ligands. The complex mol-ecules are linked to give a three-dimensional structure by phosphono-formate ligands bridging Co(II) atoms and water mol-ecules establishing cobalt-sodium bridges. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the aqua ligands and all O atoms of the phosphono-formato ligand and neighbouring aqua ligands help to consolidate the packing.

Project description:The reaction of lead(II) nitrate and benzoic acid in aqueous solution yields the title polymer, [Pb(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n). The asymmetric unit contains one Pb(II) ion, two benzoate ligands and one water mol-ecule. The Pb-O bond distances are in the range 2.494 (4)-2.735 (4) Å. The Pb⋯Pb distance is 4.0683 (4) Å, indicating an insignificant metal-metal inter-action. The Pb(II) atom has a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry chelated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms. The Pb atoms are bridged through a coordinating water mol-ecule and two carboxyl-ate O atoms from another two benzoate ligands, giving an infinite three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involved the coordinating water and carboxyl-ate O atoms enhance the stability of the supra-molecular arrangement.

Project description:The title compound, [Li(2)(SO(4))(C(3)H(7)NO(2))(H(2)O)](n), is a coordination polymer in which the β-alanine residues remain in the zwitterionic form. The crystal structure consists of corrugated sheets of [LiO(4)] and [SO(4)] tetra-hedra parallel to (010) with the β-alanine mol-ecules located between the sheets. The two independent Li(+) cations are four-coordinated by O atoms in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The crystal structure is formed by stacking of alternate organic and inorganic layers along the a axis. The crystal structure is further stabilized by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Na(C(4)H(7)O(3))(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O}(n), the sodium ion is octa-hedrally coordinated by two bridging 1,4-anhydro-erythritolate ligands, unexpectedly coordinated by the ring oxygen and four water ligands. This bonding pattern leads to one-dimensional anti-tactical polymeric chains along [010]. One of the exocyclic O atoms of the anhydro-erythritolate group is an acceptor in four hydrogen bonds, giving further evidence that it is deprotonated.
