A two-dimensional manganese(II) complex: poly[bis-(?(2)-4,4'-bipyrid-yl)tetra-kis-(?(2)-3,5-dinitro-benzoato)dimanganese(II)].

ABSTRACT: The Mn atom in the title compound, [Mn(2)(C(7)H(3)N(2)O(6))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), is six-coordinated by two N atoms and four O atoms, forming a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Mn-O bond lengths are in the range 2.1281?(13)-2.2011?(12)?Å and the Mn-N bond lengths are 2.269?(2) and 2.278?(2)?Å. Mn(II) atoms are double-bridged along the a axis by two pairs of bi-monodentate carboxyl groups, forming a double-stranded chain, while the bidentate 4,4'-bipyridine ligand bridges the Mn atom along the b axis. This results in a two-dimensional structure constructed of oblong grids with the sides of length 11.634 and 5.075?Å

The Mn atom in the title compound, [Mn(2)(C(7)H(3)N(2)O(6))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), is six-coordinated by two N atoms and four O atoms, forming a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(8)H(5)N(2)O(6))(4)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O, forms a centrosymmetric paddle-wheel-type dimer with an intra-molecular Cu⋯Cu distance of 2.6540 (4) Å. The Cu(II) atom is in a square-pyramidal coordination environment formed by four O atoms of four carboxyl-ate groups and one water mol-ecule, which is located in the apical position. The carboxyl-ate groups are twisted relative to the benzene rings by 11.09 (16) and 45.55 (19)°. The nitro groups are not coplanar with the parent aromatic rings [dihedral angles = 16.2 (3)-51.45 (14)°]. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and one of the nitro groups, as well as π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5764 (12) Å] between the benzene rings, assemble the complex mol-ecules into a one-dimensional polymeric structure which is further extended into a three-dimensional polymeric network via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the water molecules of crystallization.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mo(2)(C(7)F(5)O(2))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))](n), the mol-ecule forms a paddle-wheel-type structure. Each Mo(2) (4+) unit is equatorially coordinated by four pentafluoro-benzoate groups, while the axial positions are occupied by two 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules. The Mo-Mo bond length of 2.1227 (4) Å is representative of a dimolybdenum quadruple bond. An infinite linear chain parallel to [110] is formed by the Mo(2) (4+) unit coordinating axially to the two N atoms of the 4,4'-bipyridine ligand [Mo-N = 2.594 (2) Å]. The crystal packing shows mol-ecules linked together into a three-dimensional network via Mo-N coordination inter-actions and weak π-π stacking inter-actions between perfluoro-phenyl rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7280 (3) Å and centroid-to-plane distance = 3.6103 (12) Å between two penta-fluoro-phenyl rings].

Project description:The title compound, [Sr(C(8)H(5)N(2)O(6))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), essentially consists of a one-dimensional polymeric network with Sr(2)O(2) rings extending along the [100] direction. The range of Sr-O bond lengths is 2.4822 (13)-2.8113 (13) Å. C-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions stabilize the mol-ecules in the form of a two-dimensional polymeric network parallel to (001). One of the nitro groups is disordered over three sets of sites with the occupancy ratio of 0.46:0.32:0.22.

The central Mn(II) atom, which is located on a crystallographic inversion center, is coordinated octa-hedrally by six benzoate O atoms. The two terminal Mn(II) ions are six-coordinated by four benzoate O atoms and two N atoms of 2,2'-bipyridyl. The central Mn(II) atom and the terminal Mn(II) ions are bridged by four benzoate ligands in a bidentate fashion, whereas the other two carboxyl-ate ligands form bridges through one O atom only and chelate the terminal Mn(II) atom. The mol-ecules pack together via van der Waals attractions and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:A new coordination polymer, [Cu(C(7)H(2)N(2)O(7))(C(5)H(5)NO)](n), exhibits a double-chain structure, in which 3,5-dinitro-2-oxidobenzoate and 3-hydroxy-pyridine both act as bridging ligands, -connecting adjacent copper(II) centers to form an infinite double-stranded chain. The asymmetric unit contains one Cu(II) ion, one 3,5-dinitro-2-oxidobenzoate ligand and a 3-hydroxy-pyridine ligand. Coordination by one N atom and three O atoms from two different 3,5-dinitro-2-oxidobenzoate ligands and a 3-hydroxy-pyridine ligand creates a square-planar Cu(II) center, which is augmented by a less tightly bonded fifth phenol O atom to form a square-pyramidal five-coordinate complex with an essentially planar base. The double-stranded chains are stabilized by intra-chain π-π inter-actions [the centroid-to-centroid distance between adjacent aromatic rings is 3.719 (7) Å], and further linked through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

The coordin-ation sphere about one Co(II) atom comprises four O-atom donors from two bidentate chelate (O(phenolate) and O(carbox-yl)) and bridging dianionic ligands and two water mol-ecules [Co-O range = 2.0249 (11)-2.1386 (14) Å], while that about the second Co(II) atom has four water mol-ecules and two bridging carboxyl-ate O-donor atoms [Co-O range = 2.0690 (14)-2.1364 (11) Å]. The coordinated water mol-ecules as well as the water mol-ecules of solvation give O-H⋯O water-water and water-carboxyl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions in the three-dimensional framework structure.
