ABSTRACT: The tetra-nuclear title compound, [Cu(2)Ti(2)(C(6)H(6)NO(6))(2)O(O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(10)]·7H(2)O, lies about a twofold rotation axis that passes through the bridging oxide atom. The titanium atom is N,O,O',O''-chelated by the nitrilo-triacetate and O,O'-chelated by the peroidxo group and is coordinated to the bridging O atom in an overall penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. The O atom of one of the carboxyl-ate -CO(2) groups binds to the water-coordinated Cu atom, whose coordination polyhedron is an elongated octa-hedron. Adjacent tetra-nuclear mol-ecules are linked through the coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(2)Cd(C(17)H(16)N(2)O(2))(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(2)(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)], contains discrete centrosymmetric hetero-trinuclear mol-ecules in which Ni/Cd atom pairs are triply bridged via O atoms from the SALPD(2-) [N,N'-bis-(salicyl-idene)-1,3-propane-diaminate] and acetate ligands. The central Cd(II) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment formed by four O atoms from two SALPD(2-) ligands in the equatorial plane and two O atoms of two symmetry-related acetate ligands in the axial positions. The symmetry-related Ni(II) ions are in slightly distorted octa-hedral environments, coordinated by two O and two N atoms from tetra-dendate SALPD(2-) ligands in the equatorial plane, while the axial positions are occupied by O atoms from a dimethyl-formamide and an acetate ligand. This results in the formation of three edge-shared octa-hedra in which the Ni⋯Cd distance is 3.1482 (15) Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The Mn(II) ion is coordinated by two O atoms and four water O atoms in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Two pyrazolyl-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate anions chelate to two copper ions, forming a dinuclear unit, which further connects the Mn(II )ions into chains extending along [100]. Both independent coordinated water mol-ecules on the Mn(II) ion are disordered in a 50:50 fashion.

Project description:In the title heteronuclear Zn(II)-Sm(III) complex, [SmZn(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4))(NO(3))(3)(CH(3)CH(2)OH)], with the hexa-dentate Schiff base compartmental ligand N,N'-bis-(3-methoxy-salicyl-idene)ethyl-enediamine (H(2)L), the Sm(III) and Zn(II) ions are triply bridged by two phenolate O atoms from the Schiff base ligand and one nitrate anion. The five-coordinate Zn(II) ion is in a square-pyramidal geometry formed by the donor centers of two imine N atoms, two phenolate O atoms and one of the bridging nitrate O atoms. The Sm(III) center is in a ten-fold coordination of O atoms, involving the phenolate O atoms, two meth-oxy O atoms, one ethanol O atom, and two O atoms from two nitrate anions and one from the bridging nitrate anion. The coordination environment of the Cu(II) ion is distorted square-planar and it is N(2)O(2)-chelated by the 6,6'-dimeth-oxy-2,2'-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolate Schiff base ligand. The Na atom is chelated by the four O atoms of the Schiff base ligand, and coordinated by a methanol mol-ecule and a perchlorate anion. The six-coordinate Na atom adopts a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The O atoms of the perchlorate anion are disordered over two sites with site-occupancy factors of 0.697 (5) and 0.303 (5). O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding occurs.

Project description:The title compound, (NH(4))(5)Na(7)[Mo(5)P(2)O(23)](2)·21H(2)O, was prepared under atmospheric conditions in aqueous solution at room temperature. The structure contains the [Mo(5)P(2)O(23)](6-) heteropolyoxometallate anion, which has been previously reported a number of times with a variety of differing counter-cations. Each anion is built up of five MoO(6) octa-hedra sharing an edge and forming a ring which is closed by common corners of the terminal octa-hedra. The rings are closed on both sides by two asymmetric PO(4) tetra-hedra, sharing three corners with three MoO(6) octa-hedra. The anions are chiral and the two independent anions in the asymmetric unit were arbitarily chosen with the same chirality, but the centrosymmetric crystal contains both enanti-omers. The structure can alternatively be described as a succession of layers parallel to (101), formed by the [Mo(5)P(2)O(23)](6-) anions and linked by sodium chains. Water mol-ecules and ammonium ions fill the remaining space and ensure the cohesion through extensive N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.

Each Cu(II) atom has a normal square-planar geometry. The mol-ecule has approximate local (non-crystallographic) mirror symmetry and 23 classical hydrogen bonds are found in the crystal structure.
