ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Ni(4)(C(36)H(40)N(2)O(2))(2)(OH)(4)(C(3)H(9)OP)(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2C(4)H(10)O·2C(3)H(9)OP·2H(2)O, is centrosymmetric with a central core that can be described as a defect double cubane. The four metal ions in the cluster are held together by four bridging hydroxide groups. Each Ni(II) atom adopts a distorted octa-hedral geometry.

The metal atoms display a distorted tetragonal-pyramidal coordination geometry, and are linked by two ?(2)- and two ?(3)-hydroxo groups, assuming a chair-like conformation for the Cu(4)O(2) core. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Sn(4)(C(7)H(6)Cl)(8)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)O(2)(OH)(2)], comprises one-half of the centrosymmetric tin(IV) complex. ?(3)-Oxide and ?(2)-hydroxide bridges link the four five-coordinate Sn(IV) atoms to generate three fused four-membered Sn-O-Sn-O rings in a ladder-like structure. The two endocyclic Sn atoms each bind to two ?(3)-oxide anions and a ?(2)-hydroxide ligand, together with two 2-chloro-benzyl groups. The exocyclic Sn atoms each carry a monodentate phenyl-acetate ligand, two 2-chloro-benzyl groups, and ?(3)-oxide and ?(2)-hydroxide ligands. Both types of Sn atoms adopt a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H?O inter-actions involving the ?(2)-hydroxide ligands and the C=O group of the phenyl-acetate ligand.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(30)H(23)O(2)P(2))(C(3)H(9)P)(2)], was synthesized by the addition of a Co(PMe(3))(4) solution to (PPh(2)O)(2)C(6)H(4). The Co(I) atom displays a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry with the two P atoms of the 'PCP' pincer ligand and the P atom of one of the trimethyl phosphine ligands forming the basal plane, whereas the metalated C atom and the P atom of the second phospine ligand occupy the apical sites. The Co-C distance is 1.961?(2)?Å and the C-Co-P angle is 171.96?(6)°.

Project description:The ladder-like structure of the tetranuclear title compound, [Sn(4)(C(6)H(5))(4)Cl(2)O(2)(OH)(2)(C(9)H(13)N)(2)(C(9)H(12)N)(2)]Cl(2)·10CDCl(3), consists of two five- and two six-coordinated Sn(IV) atoms bridged by oxide or hydroxide groups. The chelating ligands reveal rather strong Sn-N bonds [2.517?(4)?Å], but the protonated dimethylamino groups in the periphery of the complex show no interaction with the metal atoms. The complex cation is located on an inversion centre. The chloride anion is linked to the complex mol-ecule by strong intra-molecular O-H?Cl and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. Five independent deuterochloroform accompany the complex, two of them are disordered [occupancy ratios 0.63?(2):0.27?(2) and 0.60?(2):0.40?(2)].

In the cation, the Cu(II) atom shows a slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry provided by a pair of ?-OH(-) anions and by the N atoms of a chelate tmen ligand in the basal plane. The apical position is statistically occupied by the O atom of a half-occupancy water mol-ecule. The F atoms of the anion are disordered over three sets of sites with occupancies of 0.598?(9):0.269?(6):0.134?(8). The crystal packing is governed by ionic forces as well as by O-H?F hydrogen bonds.

The average Mo-P bond length of the two trans PMe(3) ligands is 2.474?(5)?Å and the Mo-Cp centroid distance is 2.003?(2)?Å.
