2-(1H-Benzimidazol-2-yl)-4,6-dichloro-phenol.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(13)H(8)Cl(2)N(2)O, was prepared by the reaction of 3,5-dichloro-2-hy-droxy-benzaldehyde with 1,2-diamino-benzene in methanol at ambient temperature. The title mol-ecule is essentially planar, the mean deviation from the plane of the non-H atoms being 0.037?(2)?Å. There is an intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond in the mol-ecule. In the crystal, symmetry-related mol-ecules are linked through N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming polymeric chains propagating in [001]. The chains are linked by ?-? inter-actions involving the dichloro-phenol ring and the benzoimidazole ring system [centroid-centroid distances = 3.535?(2) and 3.724?(2)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, C14H9Br2N3O·0.5C2H5OH, crystallizes with two 2-[(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)imino-meth-yl]-4,6-dibromo-phenol mol-ecules and one ethanol solvent mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The benzene and benzimidazole rings subtend dihedral angles of 4.5?(3) and 5.2?(2)° in the two mol-ecules. In the crystal, one mol-ecule presents ?-? stacking with the equivalent mol-ecule related by inversion, at a distance of 3.30?Å (separation between mol-ecular mean planes). A three-dimensional network is formed through N-H?N, N-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title solvate, C14H12N2O·0.5C6H6, the complete benzene molecule is generated by a crystallographic inversion centre. The dihedral angle between the planes of the benzimidazole moiety and the phenol substituent is 75.28 (3)°. In the crystal, O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into parallel chains propagating along [100]. The mol-ecules are further connected by C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, 0.75C(15)H(14)N(2)O·0.25C(15)H(14)N(2)O, is a co-crystal of 2-methyl-6-(6-methyl-1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)phenol as the major component and 2-methyl-6-(5-methyl-1H-benz-imidazol-2-yl)phenol as the minor component. The refined site-occupancy ratio is 0.746?(4)/0.254?(4). The conformations of both components are identical except for that of the methyl substituent on the benzene ring of the benzimidazole unit which is positionally disordered over two positions. The mol-ecule is essentially planar, the dihedral angle between the benzimidazole plane and the benzene ring being 3.49?(4)°. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal packing, mol-ecules are linked through N-H?O hydrogen bonds into chains along [201]. These chains are stacked approximately along the a-axis direction. The crystal packing is further stabilized by weak N-H?O and O?H?N hydrogen bonds, together with weak inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions. A ?-? inter-action with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.6241?(6)?Å is also observed between the substituted phenyl ring and that of the benzimidazole system.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(13)H(13)N(5). In each mol-ecule, an amino N atom is connected to a benzimidazole fused-ring system and a pyrimidine ring [these are aligned at 1.3 (1)° in one independent mol-ecule and at 5.4 (1)° in the other]. The amino N atom of the fused ring forms an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond to a pyrimidine N atom in each mol-ecule. The amino N atom connecting the two ring systems inter-acts with the other N atom of the pyrimidine ring of an adjacent mol-ecule, generating centrosymmetric hydrogen-bonded dimers.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by pairs of weak C-H⋯Cl inter-actions, forming inversion dimers, which are further connected by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into two-dimensional frameworks that lie parallel to (001).
