ABSTRACT: The title compound PBPEA, C(10)H(7)Br(5)O(2), has its ethyl acetate portion nearly orthogonal to the benzene ring, with a C-C-C-C torsion angle of 88.3?(5)°. The packing involves an inter-molecular contact with a Br?Br distance of 3.491?(1)?Å, having C-Br?Br angles of 173.4?(2) and 106.0?(2)°. The crystal studied was an inversion twin.

Project description:The title compound, C(6)HBr(5)O, is the perbrominated derivative of phenol. The mol-ecule shows non-crystallographic mirror symmetry. Bond lengths between the C and Br atoms are normal. In the crystal structure, O-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into infinite strands. Dispersive Br?Br contacts are observed. No significant ?-? stacking is obvious.

Project description:In the title compound, C(15)H(2)F(10)O, the two perfluorinated arene rings are tilted at an angle of 66.08?(5)° with respect to each other. The olefinic double bond adopts an E configuration and the single bond between the olefinic and carbonyl double bonds has an s-trans conformation. The carbonyl group is not in a coplanar alignment with respect to the neighbouring arene ring (0.963?Å from aryl plane) while being coplanar with regard to the olefinic double bond (0.0805?Å from olefinic bond). The crystal packing does not feature significant hydrogen-bond-type or stacking inter-actions.

The two cyclo-hexene rings fused to the central ring both have a twisted-boat conformation. The mean planes of the bromo-hydroxy-phenyl ring and the major and minor components of the disordered ethyl amino-acetate moiety make dihedral angles of 78.99 (12), 85.9 (2) and 88.3 (9)°, respectively, with the 1,4-di-hydro-pyridine ring. The terminal ethyl group of the ethyl amino-acetate moiety is disordered over two sets of sites with refined occupancies of 0.768 (17) and 0.232 (17). The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond, forming an S(8) ring motif. In the crystal, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into layers parallel to (001), enclosing R 1 (2)(7) ring motifs.
