(1E,2E)-1,2-Bis(2,2-diphenyl-hydrazin-1-yl-idene)ethane.

ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(26)H(22)N(4), the mol-ecule is located on an inversion centre and shows an E configuration with respect to each C=N bond. The dihedral angle between the phenyl rings in the diphenyl-hydrazone group is 83.69 (11)°. These two rings make dihedral angles of 30.53 (15) and 84.53 (16)° with the central N-N=C-C=N-N dihydrazonoethane plane. Inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions are observed.

Project description:The title salt, (C(12)H(12)N(4)O(2))[ReCl(6)], consists of 2,2'-[(1E,2E)-1,2-bis-(hy-droxy-imino)-ethane-1,2-di-yl]dipyridinium cations and [ReCl(6)](2-) anions which are both located on inversion centres. Each cation consists of a glyoxime moiety attached to two protonated pyridine rings in ortho positions. In the crystal, E,E isomers of the cation are observed which differ in the spatial arrangement of the pyridine rings. These rings are positionally disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.786 (7) and 0.214 (7). The geometry of the cation is compared with that of a recently reported dipyridyl-glyoxime with the same configuration. The cations and anions are involved in a network of inter-molecular O-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(16)H(14)N(4)O(4), contains one half-mol-ecule of (nitro-phen-yl)ethanimine and the complete mol-ecule is generated by a crystallographic inversion centre. The mol-ecule has an E conformation with respect to each C=N double bond. The central C=N-N=C plane is twisted from the benzene rings with a dihedral angle of 24.76?(11)°. In the crystal, C-H?O inter-actions link the molecules to form sheets that lie parallel to (10-4).

Project description:In the title compound, C(18)H(16)N(2), there are two independent half-mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit, each mol-ecule being completed by an inversion center situated in the mid-point of the central N-N bond. The mol-ecules themselves therefore are essentially planar with r.m.s. deviations of 0.015 (1) and 0.020 (1) Å, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via C-H⋯π inter-actions in which only type B mol-ecules are donors, while both A and B mol-ecules act as acceptors. As a result, type B mol-ecules are linked into infinite chains along b, which are inter-connected by molecules of type A.

Project description:The configuration about each C=N bond in the title compound, C(22)H(20)N(4)O(3)S, is E. While to a first approximation the phenyl-hydrazin-1-yl-idene and benzohydrazide residues are coplanar, in part due to the presence of an intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bond, significant twists are evident in the orientations of the hydrazine [N-N-C-C torsion angle = -170.74?(11)°] and benzoyl benzene [N-C-C-C = -21.72?(18)°] rings. The sulfonyl benzene ring occupies a position almost normal to the rest of the mol-ecule [C-S-C-N = -92.28?(10)°]. Centrosymmetric aggregates mediated by pairs of hydrazide-sulfonyl N-H?O hydrogen bonds are the predominant packing motif in the crystal. These are connected into linear supra-molecular chains via C-H?O inter-actions which are, in turn, linked into layers in the ac plane via C-H?? inter-actions. Connections between layers along the b-axis direction are of the ?-? type and occur between centrosymmetrically related hydrazine-bound benzene rings [centroid-centroid separation = 3.7425?(9)?Å].

Project description:There are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(18)H(20)N(2)O(2). The two mol-ecules exist in an E,E configuration with respect to the two C=N double bonds. The dihedral angles between the two benzene rings in each mol-ecule are 16.89?(6) and 18.84?(6)°. In each mol-ecule, the two meth-oxy groups are coplanar with their attached benzene rings, with r.m.s. deviations of 0.0078 and 0.0336?Å in one mol-ecule, and 0.0163 and 0.0207?Å in the other. An intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond is present in one mol-ecule. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are arranged into ribbons along the c axis. These ribbons are further stacked along the a axis. The mol-ecules are consolidated by C?N [3.306?(2)-3.427?(2)?Å] and C?O [3.3284?(16)-3.3863?(15)?Å] short contacts. C-H?? inter-actions are also observed.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, trans-[Cu(C2H)Cl(C26H24P2)2], consists of an Ru(II) cation, located on an inversion centre, in an octa-hedral environment defined by two chelating phosphines, one acetyl-ide and one chloride ligand. The -C CH and the chlorine ligands are disordered over two equivalent positions (0.5 occupancy each). The coordination geometry is distorted octa-hedral, with the -C CH fragment and the Cl ligand in trans positions. The four P atoms occupy the equatorial plane of the octa-hedron and the chloride and acetyl-ide ligands the axial positions.
