Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(16)H(14)N(4)O(4), contains one half-mol-ecule of (nitro-phen-yl)ethanimine and the complete mol-ecule is generated by a crystallographic inversion centre. The mol-ecule has an E conformation with respect to each C=N double bond. The central C=N-N=C plane is twisted from the benzene rings with a dihedral angle of 24.76?(11)°. In the crystal, C-H?O inter-actions link the molecules to form sheets that lie parallel to (10-4).

Project description:There are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(18)H(20)N(2)O(2). The two mol-ecules exist in an E,E configuration with respect to the two C=N double bonds. The dihedral angles between the two benzene rings in each mol-ecule are 16.89?(6) and 18.84?(6)°. In each mol-ecule, the two meth-oxy groups are coplanar with their attached benzene rings, with r.m.s. deviations of 0.0078 and 0.0336?Å in one mol-ecule, and 0.0163 and 0.0207?Å in the other. An intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond is present in one mol-ecule. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are arranged into ribbons along the c axis. These ribbons are further stacked along the a axis. The mol-ecules are consolidated by C?N [3.306?(2)-3.427?(2)?Å] and C?O [3.3284?(16)-3.3863?(15)?Å] short contacts. C-H?? inter-actions are also observed.

Project description:In the title compound, C(18)H(16)N(2), there are two independent half-mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit, each mol-ecule being completed by an inversion center situated in the mid-point of the central N-N bond. The mol-ecules themselves therefore are essentially planar with r.m.s. deviations of 0.015 (1) and 0.020 (1) Å, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via C-H⋯π inter-actions in which only type B mol-ecules are donors, while both A and B mol-ecules act as acceptors. As a result, type B mol-ecules are linked into infinite chains along b, which are inter-connected by molecules of type A.

Project description:The title compound, C(34)H(30)N(4)O(2), lies on an inversion center and consists of two 3-substituted-1H-indole units linked by a 1,2-dimethyl-enehydrazine bridge. It is one of numerous examples in which two aromatic ring systems are joined by this 4-atom bridge. The geometry of the centrosymmetric bridge is: C(arom)-C = 1.444?(3), C=N = 1.284?(3), N-N = 1.414?(4)?Å, C(arom)-C=N = 122.6?(2) and C=N-N = 111.9?(2)°. The nine non-H atoms of the indole unit lie in a plane (?(r.m.s.) = 0.0089?Å) which is twisted 6.0?(2)° with respect to the hydrazine bridge plane. The benzyl-oxymethyl substituents do not lie in the plane of the rest of the mol-ecule and are in a folded rather than an extended conformation. This is described by the three torsion angles in the middle of the C=N-C-O-C(Bz) group, viz. 98.5?(3), -62.1?(3), and -66.3?(2)°.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(14)H(11)ClN(4)O(4), is in an E configuration and is twisted with the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings being 38.48 (8)°. The ethyl-idenehydrazine plane makes dihedral angles of 6.03 (10) and 44.04 (11)°, respectively, with the dinitro- and chloro-substituted benzene rings. The two nitro groups are essentially coplanar with the bound benzene ring, making dihedral angles of 0.9 (2) and 1.65 (18)°. An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by a weak C-H⋯O inter-action into a chain along the c axis. The chains are further stacked along the b axis by a π-π inter-action with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.6088 (10) Å.
