ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric binuclear title compound, [Pb(2)(N(3))(2)(NCS)(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(4)], the N-donor atoms of one N-heterocycle and the N-donor atom of a thio-cyanate anion along with the sterically active lone-pair electrons comprise an approximate square; a plane through three atoms of this square is twisted slightly with respect to the square made up of the other four atoms (two from the other N-heterocycle and one each from the bridging azide anions) at a dihedral angle of 18.7?(1)°. The Pb(II) atom is in a ?-square-anti-prismaic coordination.

Project description:In the title polymer, [Cd(C(2)N(3))(2)(C(16)H(16)N(2)O(2))](n), the Cd(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from one 2,9-dieth-oxy-1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule and four N atoms from four symmetry-related dicyanamide ions in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the 2,9-dieth-oxy-1,10-phenanthroline ligand, the O and C atoms of the eth-oxy groups are located almost in the plane defined by the phenanthroline ring system. Two dicyanamide ions bridge two Cd(II) ions, which are located on a twofold axis, forming a one-dimensional zigzag chain along the [001] direction. The 2,9-dieth-oxy-1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecules act as bidentate terminal ligands. There are π-π inter-actions between polymeric chains, characterized by a centroid-centroid distance of 3.7624 (2) Å between the phenanthroline rings of two neighbouring chains.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(NCS)(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), the Cu(I) ion is in a distorted tetra-hedral CuN(3)S coordination geometry. The thio-cyanate ligand acts as bridging ligand, forming chains along [100]. A crystallographic mirror plane runs through the Cu(I) ion, the thio-cyanate ligand and the middle of the phenanthroline ligand.

The axis passes through the mid-point of the 1,10 and 5,6 bonds of the N-heterocycle and through the Sn atom. The Sn atoms show a slightly distorted SnC(2)N(4) octa-hedral coordination.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, {(C(12)H(14)N(2))[Fe(NCS)(4)]}(n), the iron(II) cation is coordinated by four N-bonded and two S-bonded thio-cyanate anions in a distorted octa-hedral coordination mode. The asymmetric unit consists of half an iron(II) cation and half a protonated (E)-4,4'-(ethane-1,2-di-yl)dipyridinium dication, each located on a centre of inversion. In addition, there are two thio-cyanate anions in general positions. The crystal structure consists of Fe-(NCS)(2)-Fe chains in which each iron(II) cation is additionally coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions. Non-coordinating dipyridinium dications are present between the thiocyanatoferrate(II) chains and are connected to the anions via N-H⋯N and N-H⋯S hydrogen-bond interactions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(NCS)(C(12)H(7)ClN(2))(2)][Zn(NCS)(3)(C(12)H(7)ClN(2))], contains two cations and two anions. In the cations, the Zn(II) ions have distorted trigonal-bipyramidal environments formed by four N atoms from two 2-chloro-1,10-phenanthroline (cphen) ligands and one N atom from a thio-cyanate ligand. The Zn(II) atoms in the complex anions also have distorted trigonal-bipyramidal environments, formed by two N atoms from a cphen ligand and three N atoms from three thio-cyanato ligands. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cd(NCS)(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)](n), consists of two crystallographically independent Cd(II) cations, four thio-cyanato anions and four pyridine ligands. The Cd(II) atoms are each coordinated by four N atoms from two pyridine ligands and two thio-cyanato anions, each in a mutually cis orientation, and by two S atoms from two adjacent thio-cyanato anions within a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. The Cd(II) atoms are μ-1,3-bridged via the thio-cyanato anions into polymeric chains parallel to [001]. The Cd(II)⋯Cd(II) intra-chain separations range between 5.9688 (6) and 6.0195 (6) Å, whereas the shortest Cd(II)⋯Cd(II) inter-chain separations are 7.8272 (7) and 8.6312 (6) Å.

The aqua O atom of the core is involved in hydrogen bonds with the triazole N atoms of the solvent mol-ecules, generating one-dimensional ladder motifs, and three inter-molecular C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(NCS)(C(10)H(8)N(2))](n), the Cu(I) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from two symmetry-related 4,4'-bipyridine (bipy) ligands and one N and one S atom from two symmetry-related thio-cyanate ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral environment. The thio-cyanate ligands bridge the Cu(I) atoms into a zigzag [CuSCN](n) chain running parallel to the a axis. These chains are further connected through two bipy ligands that bridge the Cu(I) centers to generate a two-dimensional brick-like network. The pyridyl planes of the ligands exhibit a dihedral angle of 37.35 (12)°.
