[2,2'-Dihy-droxy-N,N-(3-hy-droxy-imino-pentane-2,4-di-yl)dibenzo-hydra-zid-ato]copper(II).

ABSTRACT: The Cu(II) atom in the title complex, [Cu(C(19)H(17)N(5)O(5))], is coordinated by two N atoms and two O atoms of one 2,2'-dihy-droxy-N(2),N(2)'-(3-hy-droxy-imino-pentane-2,4-di-yl)dibenzo-hydrazidate ligand, exhibiting a distorted square-planar geometry. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings in the oxime hydrazone is 7.62 (15)°. The molecular configuration is stabilized by intramolecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Pairs of centrosymmetrically related molecules are linked into dimers by two inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Each dimer is further connected to four neighboring dimers via four O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming an extended two-dimensional structure. The oxime O atom is disordered over two orientations in a 2:1 ratio.

Project description:The reaction between copper(II) nitrate and (E)-N-(3-amino-2,2-dimethyl-prop-yl)-2-(hy-droxy-imino)-propanamide led to the formation of the dinuclear centrosymmetric copper(II) title complex, (C8H18N3O2)2[Cu2(C8H15N3O2)2(C8H17N3O2)2](C9H16N3O4)2·2CH3CN, in which an inversion center is located at the midpoint of the Cu2 unit in the center of the neutral [Cu2(C8H15N3O2)2(C8H17N3O2)2] complex fragment. The Cu(2+) ions are connected by two N-O bridging groups [Cu?Cu separation = 4.0608?(5)?Å] while the Cu(II) ions are five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal N4O coordination environment. The complex mol-ecule co-crystallizes with two mol-ecules of acetonitrile, two mol-ecules of the protonated ligand (E)-3-[2-(hy-droxy-imino)-propanamido]-2,2-dimethyl-propan-1-aminium and two negatively charged (E)-{3-[2-(hy-droxy-imino)-propanamido]-2,2-dimethyl-prop-yl}carbamate anions, which were probably formed as a result of condensation between (E)-N-(3-amino-2,2-dimethyl-prop-yl)-2-(hy-droxy-imino)-propanamide and hydro-gencarbonate anions. In the crystal, the complex fragment [Cu2(C8H15N3O2)2(C8H17N3O2)2] and the ion pair C8H18N3O2(+.)C9H16N3O4(-) are connected via an extended system of hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title ethanol solvate, C(15)H(21)N(3)O(6)·C(2)H(6)O, adopts a curved shape; the conformation about the imine bond [N=N = 1.287 (3) Å] is E. The amide residues occupy positions almost orthogonal to each other [dihedral angle = 85.7 (2)°]. In the crystal, a network of O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds leads to the formation of supra-molecular arrays in the ab plane with the ethanol mol-ecules lying to the periphery on either side. Disorder in the solvent ethanol mol-ecule was evident with two positions being resolved for the C atoms [site occupancy of the major component = 0.612 (10)].

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric dimeric Cd(II) complex, [Cd(2)(C(7)H(5)O(4))(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Cd(II) cation is coord-inated by a bidentate phenanthroline (phen) ligand, three dihy-droxy-benzoate (dhba) anions and one water mol-ecule in a distorted CdN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry. Among the dhba anions, two anions bridge two Cd(II) cations to form the dimeric complex with significant different Cd-O bond distances of 2.2215 (19) and 2.406 (2) Å. The centroid-centroid distance of 3.4615 (19) Å between two nearly parallel benzene rings of the dhba and phen ligands coordinating to the same Cd(II) cation indicates the existence of intra-molecular π-π stacking in the complex. Extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and inter-molecular weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding help to stabilize the crystal structure. One hy-droxy group of the monodentate dhba ligand is disordered over two sites with a site-occupancy ratio of 0.9:0.1.

An S(6) ring motif is formed due to an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. The compound consists of dimers due to inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with an R(2) (2)(8) ring motif. The dimers are inter-linked through strong N-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, resulting in a three-dimensional polymeric network.

Project description:The title compound, C(27)H(47)NO, is a steroid derivative composed of a saturated carbon fused-ring framework with an alkyl side chain. Ring bond lengths have normal values with an average of 1.533?(2)?Å, while the cholestane side chain shows an average bond length of 1.533?(2)?Å. The three cyclohexane rings adopt chair conformations or close to chair conformations while the cyclopentane ring is twisted. The cholesterol side-chain is fully extended with a gauche-trans conformation of the terminal methyl groups. There are eight chiral centres in the molecule; the absolute configuration of these sites was determined from the structure presented. There are two molecules in the asymmetric unit; in one, the alkyl chain is disordered over two sets of sites [occupancy ratios of 0.50:0.50 and 0.67:0.33].
