ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, [Zn(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(14)H(14)N(4))](n), the Zn(II) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from two 1,2-bis-(imidazol-1-ylmeth-yl)benzene ligands as well as by the two O atoms from two terephthalate ligands, confering a tetra-hedral coordination geometry. The bridging ligands generate a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title one-dimensional coordination polymer, {[Zn(NCS)(2)(C(24)H(20)N(6))(2)]·0.28H(2)O}(n), was obtained by the reaction of Zn(OAc)(2)·2H(2)O, KSCN and 1,2-bis-{[2-(2-pyrid-yl)-1H-imid-azol-1-yl]meth-yl}benzene (hereafter L). The Zn(II) ion shows a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry and is coordin-ated by two N atoms from two SCN(-) anions and four N atoms from two organic ligands. The L ligands act as bridging bis-chelating ligands with cis coordination modes at the Zn(II) ion. One-dimensional coordination polymers are arranged into layers by ?-? stacking inter-actions between the imidazole rings of adjacent chains, with an inter-planar distance of 3.46?(1)?Å and centroid-centroid distances of 3.8775?(16)?Å. One of the thio-cyanate ligands is disordered over two positions with an occupancy factor of 0.564?(3) for the major component. The partially occupied water mol-ecule forms an O-H?S hydrogen bond with the disordered thio-cyanate group.

Project description:In the title coordination compound, {[Zn(C(14)H(14)N(4))(2)](NO(3))(2)·CH(3)OH}(n), the cationic complex forms a looped chain containing 24-membered M(2)L(2) rings. The ligand adopts two distinct conformations that are alternated in subsequent loops. The Zn(II) ion displays a slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry being coordinated by four N atoms from four 1,3-bis-(imidazol-1-ylmeth-yl)benzene ligands. The nitrate ions and methanol solvent mol-ecules are located between adjacent double-stranded chains and participate in an extensive net of O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The resulting three-dimensional assembly is further stabilized by ?-? inter-actions between benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.878?(2) and 3.853?(2)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, [Ag(2)(C(14)H(14)N(4))(2)](C(7)H(4)O(6)S)·CH(3)OH·3H(2)O, the complex dication has a binuclear structure in which each Ag(I) ion is two-coordinated in a slightly distorted linear coordination geometry. The two Ag(I) atoms are bridged by two 1,2-bis-[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)meth-yl]benzene (IBI) ligands, forming a 22-membered ring. In the dication, π-π inter-actions are observed between the imidazole rings with centroid-centroid distances of 3.472 (3) and 3.636 (3) Å. In the crystal, the uncoordinated water mol-ecules, anions and methanol solvent mol-ecules are linked into chains along the b axis by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In addition, π-π inter-actions are observed between the benzene rings of the IBI ligands, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.776 (2) Å.
