ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(15)H(13)NO(2), all atoms of the carbazole group are coplanar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.005?Å), and the dihedral angle between this plane and C-O-C plane of oxane group is 57.1?(4)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by an N-H?O hydrogen bond, resulting in infinite supra-molecular chains along [001].

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(11)NO(3), was isolated from the roots of Clausena wallichii. The carbazole ring system is approx-imately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.039 Å) and the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 4.63 (7)°. An intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a zigzag network extending parallel to the ac plane by O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, C(22)H(19)NO(5)S, the carbazole skeleton is nearly planar [maximum deviation = 0.043?(1)?Å] with the pyrrole ring oriented at dihedral angles of 2.32?(6) and 1.77?(6)° with respect to the adjacent benzene rings. The dihedral angle between the benzene ring of the tosyl group and the carbazole skeleton is 82.25?(5)°. Intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a planar six-membered ring, which is oriented at a dihedral angle of 3.06?(4)° with respect to the adjacent carbazole skeleton. In the crystal structure, weak inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into infinite chains and ?-? contacts between the benzene rings and between the pyrrole and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.374?(1) and 3.730?(1)?Å, respectively] may further stabilize the structure. A weak C-H?? inter-action is also present.

Project description:In the title compound, C16H13NO4, the carbazole ring system is almost planar with non-H atoms possessing a mean deviation from planarity of 0.037 Å. The two ester groups are orientated trans to one another and tilted slightly from the mean plane of the carbazole ring system, making dihedral angles of 8.12 (6) and 8.21 (5)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds forming inversion dimers. The dimers are linked by parallel slipped π-π inter-actions, forming slabs propagating along the b-axis direction [inter-centroid distance = 3.6042 (8) Å, inter-planar distance = 3.3437 (5) Å, slippage = 1.345 Å].

Project description:In the title compound, C(14)H(15)NO(6)S, the thia-zine ring adopts a distorted half-chair conformation. The structure displays several cooperative weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, giving rise to a two-dimensional sheet packing motif. The CH(2) group in the meth-oxy linker to the oxirane ring, and the CH group in that ring, exhibit twofold positional disorder. The three-membered oxirane ring is twisted approximately perpendicular with respect to thia-zine ring (dihedral angle = 60/86° for the major/minor disorder components). 1,2-Benzothia-zines of this kind have a wide range of biological activities and are mainly used as medicines in the treatment of inflammation and rheumatoid arthritis.

Project description:The title compound, C(19)H(28)O(5)Si, was obtained in the reaction of 1,3-dihydro-4-[(tert-butyl-dimethyl-sil-yl)-oxy]-6-meth-oxy-7-methyl-3-oxo-5-(prop-2-en-yl)isobenzofuran with meta-chloro-perbenzoic acid. This reaction is one of the stages of the total synthesis of mycophenolic acid, which we attempted to modify. The title compound forms crystals with only weak inter-molecular inter-actions. The strongest stacking inter-action is found between the benzene and furan rings of inversion-related mol-ecules with a distance of 3.8773 (13) Å between the ring centroids.
