ABSTRACT: In the title compound, (C(24)H(20)As)(2)[Co(2)(C(6)H(6)NO(6))(2)(OH)(2)]·8H(2)O, the Co(III) atom in the binuclear centrosymmetric anion is octa-hedrally surrounded by one N atom and three O atoms of the tetra-dentate nitrilo-triacetate ligand and two ?-hydroxide ligands. The crystal packing is controlled by C-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. The crystal employed in this study proved to be a two-component twin around (01).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Co(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)·4H(2)O, contains one-half of the complex cation with the Co(II) ion located on an inversion center, a 3-hy-droxy-benzoate counter-anion and two uncoordinated water mol-ecules. Four water O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Co(II) ion [Co-O = 2.0593?(16) and 2.1118?(16)?Å] form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, and the distorted octahedral geometry is completed by the two N atoms [Co-N = 2.1306?(18)?Å] from two isonicotinamide ligands. In the anion, the carboxyl-ate group is twisted from the attached benzene ring at 8.84?(17)°. In the crystal, a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network, formed by classical O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, consolidates the crystal packing, which exhibits ?-? inter-actions between the benzene and pyridine rings, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.458?(1) and 3.606?(1)?Å, respectively.

Project description:The complex cation of the title compound, [Co(C12H8N2)3]2(NO3)4·C12H12N2O6·8H2O, contains a Co(II) atom with a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment defined by six N atoms from three bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline ligands. The asymmetric unit of the title compound is completed by one-half of the N,N'-(1,4-phenyl-enedicarbon-yl)diglycine solvent mol-ecule, which is located on a centre of inversion, by two nitrate counter-anions and four solvent water mol-ecules. Two [Co(C12H8N2)3](2+) cations are connected through C-H⋯O contacts and through lone-pair⋯π inter-actions involving the non-coordinating N,N'-(1,4-phenyl-enedicarbon-yl)diglycine and phenanthroline mol-ecules. The different aromatic ring systems are involved in π-π stacking and C-H⋯π inter-actions, with centroid-to-centroid distances in the range 3.7094 (8)-3.9973 (9) Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by further anion⋯π inter-actions and C-H⋯O contacts, as well as O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between water mol-ecules, the non-coordinating nitrate anions, N,N'-(1,4-phenyl-enedicarbon-yl)diglycine and phenanthroline mol-ecules. These non-covalent inter-actions give rise to a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

The Bi(III) coordination polyhedron is a distorted octa-hedron. There are four short terminal Bi-Cl bonds [2.5037?(10)-2.6911?(7)?Å] and two longer bridging bonds [2.8834?(8) and 3.0687?(9)?Å] in each octa-hedron. Two sets of chloride ions and water mol-ecules are disordered over the same sites with site occupancies of 1/3 and 2/3, respectively. Anions, cations and water mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O, O-H?Cl and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. There are also ?-? stacking inter-actions between quinoline ring systems [centroid-centroid distance = 3.575?(1)?Å].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Sn(4)(C(7)H(6)Cl)(8)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)O(2)(OH)(2)], comprises one-half of the centrosymmetric tin(IV) complex. ?(3)-Oxide and ?(2)-hydroxide bridges link the four five-coordinate Sn(IV) atoms to generate three fused four-membered Sn-O-Sn-O rings in a ladder-like structure. The two endocyclic Sn atoms each bind to two ?(3)-oxide anions and a ?(2)-hydroxide ligand, together with two 2-chloro-benzyl groups. The exocyclic Sn atoms each carry a monodentate phenyl-acetate ligand, two 2-chloro-benzyl groups, and ?(3)-oxide and ?(2)-hydroxide ligands. Both types of Sn atoms adopt a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H?O inter-actions involving the ?(2)-hydroxide ligands and the C=O group of the phenyl-acetate ligand.
