ABSTRACT: In the title salt, 2C(8)H(12)N(5) (+)·C(6)H(8)O(4) (2-)·4H(2)O, the anion is located on a centre of symmetry. The observed supra-molecular network of the crystal structure is produced by ten different hydrogen bonds of the N-H?N, N-H?O and O-H?O types. One additional O-H group is not connected to an acceptor site.

Project description:The reaction of 1,2-bis-{2-[(2-hydroxy-ethyl)amino-methyl]-phen-oxy}ethane and fumaric acid in a mixed solution in ethanol-water (1:1 v/v) yields the title compound, C(20)H(30)N(2)O(4) (2+)·C(4)H(2)O(4) (2-)·4H(2)O. In the crystal structure, the anions, cations and water mol-ecules are connected via O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network. The fumarate anion and the N,N'-bis-(2-hydroxy-ethyl)-N,N'-[ethyl-enedioxy-bis(o-phenyl-enemethylene)]diammonium cation are located on centers of inversion, whereas the two crystallographically independent water mol-ecules occupy general positions.

In the anion, the carboxyl-ate group is twisted from the attached benzene ring at 8.84?(17)°. One of the two H atoms of each uncoordinating water mol-ecule is disordered over two orientations with an occupancy ratio of 0.60:0.40.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, was synthesized by the hydro-thermal reaction of Zn(CH(3)COO)(2)·2H(2)O with 3-(2H-tetra-zol-5-yl)pyridine. The Zn(II) ion is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two 5-(3-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolide ligands and four coordinated water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the pyridine and tetra-zole rings is 9.920?(7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by inter-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the tetra-zole group N atoms, the aqua ligands and solvent water mol-ecules.

The Mn(II) atom, located on an inversion center, shows a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry and is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two 5-(pyridin-3-yl)tetra-zolide ligands occupying trans positions and four water mol-ecules. Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(24)H(20)P)(2)[WS(4)], which was prepared under hydro-thermal conditions, contains tetra-phenyl-phospho-nium cations linked by supra-molecular inter-actions into chains running along the [110] and [10] directions. The [WS(4)](2-)anions, which lie on twofold axes, are located in the cavities created between the cation chains.
