ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(17)H(16)N(2)O(4)S(2)·H(2)O, is of inter-est with respect to its anti-diabetic and anti-obesity activity. In the crystal, the packing is stabilized by three cooperative inter-actions: offset ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.604?(2)?Å], as well as C-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds. N-H?O inter-actions also occur.

The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by a hypervalent inter-action between the S atom and the ester group carbonyl O atom, with an S?O distance of 2.7931?(10)?Å. In the crystal, C-H?O inter-actions generate chains of mol-ecules propagating along [110] and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.4677?(7)?Å] between the thia-zole rings organize these chains into (001) layers.

The dimers are inter-linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds, resulting in sheets propagating in the ac plane.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(10)N(4)O(2)S(3), is an acyl-ating agent which belongs to the thia-zole class of organic compounds. The dihedral angle between the benzene and thiazole rings, which are fused to each other, is 1.2?(2)° so the overall benzothiazole system is almost planar. Inter-molecular N-H?N inter-actions and weak C-H?O inter-actions between symmetry-related mol-ecules stabilize the crystal structure, forming three different ring motifs [R(2) (2)(8), R(2) (2)(10) and R(2) (2)(16)] in three dimensions.

The benzimidazole and thia-zole systems are almost coplanar, forming a dihedral angle of 0.5?(2)°. In the crystal, the nitrate anion and water mol-ecule bridge the thia-bendazolium cations through N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, leading to a supra-molecular network based on an infinite one-dimensional chain using [001] as base vector.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(7)H(4)NS(2))(2)(C(7)H(9)N(3)O(3)S)], the Ni(II) ion is in a slightly distorted N(4)S(2) octa-hedral coordination environment. The two benzothia-zole-2-thiol-ate ligands chelate via their thia-zole N and thiol-ate S atoms while the methyl 2-(2-amino-thia-zol-4-yl)-2-(methoxy-imino)acetate also acts as a chelate ligand binding through the thia-zole and imino N atoms. Intra-molecular N-H?N, C-H?N and C-H?O inter-actions contribute to the mol-ecular conformation. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds produce R(1) (2)(6) rings and generate chains along the c axis. An extensive one-dimensional supra-molecular network of N-H?O hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions is responsible for the crystal structure stabilization.

Project description:Two pairs of independent cations and anions comprise the asymmetric unit of the title salt, C(6)H(16)NO(+)·C(9)H(8)N(3)O(2)S(2) (-). The cations are virtually superimposable and each exhibits a gauche disposition of the hy-droxy O and ammonium N atoms [the O-C-C-N torsion angles are 55.5?(3) and 57.5?(3)°]. Significant differences are seen in the mol-ecular structures of the anions as seen in the S-N-C-S [1.1?(3) and 32.9?(3)°] and C-S-N-C [-69.7?(2) and 91.4?(2)°] torsion angles. Despite the variations in conformation, intra-molecular hypervalent S?O inter-actions persist in each anion [3.078?(2) and 2.8730?(19)?Å]. In the crystal, supra-molecular double layers are formed in the bc plane, being sustained by O-H?N, N-H?O and N-H?N hydrogen bonding. These are connected along the a axis via C-H?O inter-actions.
