N'-(2,3-Dihy-droxy-benzyl-idene)isonicotinohydrazide.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(13)H(11)N(3)O(3), crystallized with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. One of the mol-ecules is twisted while the other is almost planar, with dihedral angles of 28.02?(6) and 2.42?(9)°, respectively, between the benzene and pyridine rings. Intra-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds are present in both mol-ecules. The two independent mol-ecules are linked by pairs of O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is further stabilized by inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds and C-H?N and C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title benzohydrazide derivative, C(15)H(14)N(2)O(4), is twisted and exists in a trans conformation with respect to the C=N double bond. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 56.86 (9)° and the C atom of the meth-oxy group deviates slightly [C-O-C-C = -10.4 (3)°] from its attached benzene ring. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O and bifurcated N-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bonds, as well as weak C-H⋯O inter-actions, into two-dimensional networks lying parallel to the bc plane. A weak C-H⋯π inter-action also occurs.

Project description:The organic mol-ecule in the title dihydrate, C(18)H(19)N(3)O(6)·2H(2)O, adopts a twisted U-shape with the major twists evident about the chiral C atom [the C-N-C-C torsion angle is -88.2?(4) °] and about the oxygen-benzyl bond [C-O-C-C = 74.2?(4) °]. The conformation about the imine bond [1.290?(4)?Å] is E and an intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond helps to establish the near coplanarity of the hy-droxy-benzene and hydrazine groups. The crystal packing features O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, leading to two-dimensional supra-molecular arrays in the ab plane with weak C-H?? connections between the arrays.

Project description:In the title isoniazid derivative, C(13)H(11)N(3)O(4)·2H(2)O, the Schiff base mol-ecule exists in an E configuration with respect to the acyclic C=N bond. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond forms a six-membered ring, producing an S(6) ring motif. The essentially planar pyridine ring [maximum deviation = 0.0119?(8)?Å] is inclined at a dihedral angle of 7.30?(4)° with respect to the benzene ring. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?N, O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into two-dimensional arrays lying parallel to the (10) plane. These arrays are further inter-connected into a three-dimensional extended network via O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds. A weak inter-molecular ?-? inter-action [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.5627?(5)?Å] is also observed.

Project description:Two derivatives of the well-known iron chelator, (E)-N'-(2-hy-droxy-benzyl-idene)isonicotinohydrazide (SIH), substituted in the 5-position of the 2-hy-droxy-benzene ring by a methyl and a fluorine group viz. (E)-N'-(2-hy-droxy-5-methyl-benzyl-idene)isonicotinohydrazide, C14H13N3O2, (I), and (E)-N'-(5-fluoro-2-hy-droxy-benzyl-idene)isonicotinohydrazide, C13H10FN3O2, (II), have been prepared and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, (1)H NMR and mass spectrometry. The mol-ecules of both compounds deviate slightly from planarity [r.m.s. deviations are 0.145 and 0.110 Å for (I) and (II), respectively] and adopt an E conformation with respect to the double bond of the hydrazone bridge. In each mol-ecule, there is an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond forming an S(6) ring motif. The dihedral angles between the mean planes of the isonicotinoyl ring and the cresol ring in (I) or the fluoro-phenol ring in (II) are 10.49 (6) and 9.43 (6)°, respectively. In the crystals of both compounds, zigzag chains are formed via N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, in the [10-1] direction for (I) and [010] for (II). In (I), the chains are linked by weak C-H⋯π and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-to-centroid distances = 3.6783 (8) Å; inter-planar angle = 10.94 (5)°], leading to the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture. In (II), adjacent chains are connected through C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to form sheets parallel to (100), which enclose R 4 (4)(30) ring motifs. The sheets are linked by weak C-H⋯π and π-π [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.7147 (8) Å; inter-planar angle = 10.94 (5)°] inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(15)N(3)O(5)S, the 2,3-dihy-droxy-benzaldehyde unit is oriented at a dihedral angles of 16.83 (10) and 78.87 (6)° with the anilinic and 5-methyl-1,2-oxazol-3-amine groups, respectively. An S(6) loop exists due to intramolecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding. In the crystal, inversion dimers with R(2) (2)(8) rings are formed due to N-H⋯N hydrogen bonding between the 5-methyl-1,2-oxazol-3-amine groups. These dimers are inter-linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [101] and resulting in R(2) (2)(26) rings. π-π inter-actions occur between the central benzene rings with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.7928 (16) Å.
