ABSTRACT: In the title compound, (C(10)H(24)N)(2)[Cu(2)Cl(6)], N,N-diisopropyl-butanamine is protonated on the N atom. The Cu(II) atom in the centrosymmetric [Cu(2)Cl(6)](2-) anion has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. In the crystal, the cations and anions are connected by N-H?Cl and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to (100).

Project description:The structure of the centrosymmetric title compound, [Cu(2)Cl(6)(C(10)H(15)N(4))(2)]·2H(2)O, consists of a dimeric [{(HMe(4)bpz)CuCl(3)}(2)] unit (HMe(4)bpz is 3,3',5,5'-tetra-methyl-4,4'-bipyrazol-1-ium) with two solvent water molecules. Each [HMe(4)bpz](+) cation is bonded to a CuCl(3) unit through a Cu-N dative bond, effectively making square-planar geometry at the Cu atom. Two of these units then undergo a face-to-face dimerization so that the Cu atoms have a Jahn-Teller distorted square-pyramidal geometry with three chlorides and an N atom in the basal plane and one chloride weakly bound in the apical position. Several N-H⋯Cl, O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Pb(2)Zn(2)(C(22)H(18)N(2)O(4))(2)Cl(4)]·2C(3)H(7)NO, was synthesized using a step-by-step method and has a slipped sandwich configuration. The coordination environment of the Zn(2+) ion is distorted square-pyramidal and it is coordinated by N(2)O(2) of the Schiff base ligand and chloride; each Pb(2+) ion is coordinated by the four 6,6'-dimeth-oxy-2,2'-[o-phenyl-ene-bis(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolate (L) O atoms and two chloride ions. The Zn(II)Pb(II) dinuclear unit, through an inversion-symmetry operation, forms a tetra-meric complex with double chloride bridges.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Zn(2)Cl(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], each of the two five-coordinated Zn(II) atoms displays a strongly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry defined by two N atoms from the chelate ligand and by one terminal and two bridging chloride anions. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H⋯Cl inter-actions. There is inter-molecular π-π stacking between adjacent phenanthroline ligands, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.151 (3) Å.

Project description:A tetra-nuclear ZnII complex, [Zn4(C13H11N6O)2Cl6(H2O)2] or {[Zn2(HL)(H2O)(Cl2)](μCl)2[Zn2(HL)(H2O)(Cl)]}2, was synthesized by mixing an equimolar amount of a methanol solution containing ZnCl2 and a methanol solution containing the ligand H2 L [1,5-bis-(pyridin-2-yl-methyl-ene)carbono-hydrazide]. In the tetra-nuclear complex, each of the two ligand mol-ecules forms a dinuclear unit that is connected to another dinuclear unit by two bridging chloride anions. In each dinuclear unit, one ZnII cation is penta-coordinated in a N2OCl2 in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, while the other ZnII cation is hexa-coordinated in a N3OCl2 environment with a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The basal plane around the penta-coordinated ZnII cation is formed by one chloride anion, one oxygen atom, one imino nitro-gen atom and one pyridine nitro-gen atom with the apical position occupied by a chloride anion. The basal plane of the hexa-coordinated ZnII cation is formed by one chloride anion, one hydrazinyl nitro-gen atom, one imino nitro-gen atom and one pyridine nitro-gen atom with the apical positions occupied by a water oxygen atom and a bridged chloro anion from another dinuclear unit, leading to a tetra-nuclear complex. A series of intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds is observed in each tetra-nuclear unit. In the crystal, the tetra-nuclear units are connected by inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a planar two-dimensional structure in the ac plane.

Project description:Dimeric mol-ecules of the title compound, [Ru(2)Cl(4)(C(12)H(18))(2)], are located on a crystallographic centre of inversion with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The hexa-methyl-benzene rings are in an η(6)-coordination to the ruthenium centres, which are bridged by two chloride ligands. In addition, the ruthenium centres are bonded to another chloride ligand. The aromatic rings and the Ru(2)Cl(2) four-membered ring enclose a dihedral angle of 55.85 (6)°.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C(19)H(18)N(3))(2)[CuCl(4)], consists of square-planar [CuCl(4)](2-) anions and triphenyl-guanidinium cations. The Cu(II) ion occupies a crystallographic inversion centre. In the cation, the dihedral angles between the phenyl rings and the plane defined by the central guanidinium fragment are in the range 51.9 (4)-64.4 (3)°. N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds assemble the ions into infinite chains running along the b axis.

Crystal structure of the thermochromic bis-(di-ethyl-ammonium) tetra-chlorido-cuprate(II) complex.

Project description:In the structure of the title complex salt, (Et2NH2)2[CuCl4], the asymmetric unit consists of four unique di-ethyl-ammonium cations and three unique tetra-chlorido-cuprate anions. Two of the three anions are located with their copper atoms on independent crystallographic twofold axes, while the remaining tetra-chlorido-cuprate is located at a general position of the ortho-rhom-bic space group P21212. Two of the three Cu atoms adopt a distorted square-planar/disphenoidal geometry and the third Cu atom has a regular square-planar coordination environment. The di-ethyl-ammonium cations form an extensive hydrogen-bonded network through N-H⋯Cl inter-actions with the tetra-chlorido-cuprate anions, resulting in a two-dimensional sheet-like hydrogen-bonded network parallel to the ab direction. The complex was observed to undergo a color shift from deep green at room temperature to pale yellow at temperatures above 328 K.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd2(C6H9N3O2)2Cl6], the coordination polyhedra around the CdII cations are distorted trigonal bipyramids. Two of the chloride ions (one axial and one equatorial) are bridging to the other metal atom, leading to a Cd⋯Cd separation of 3.9162 (4) Å. The O atom of the l-histidinium cation lies in an axial site. In the crystal, numerous N-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. Theoretical calculations and spectroscopic data are available as supporting information.
