The title compound, C(14)H(24)O(2), was synthesized from ilicic acid, which was isolated from the aerial part of Inula Viscosa- (L) Aiton [or Dittrichia Viscosa- (L) Greuter]. The mol-ecule contains two fused six-membered rings, which both display a chair conformation. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into chains propagating along the b axis by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. ...[more]
