ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(14)H(17)N(3)O(3), contains two independent mol-ecules with different conformations of the ethyl groups. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into ribbons extending along the a axis.

Project description:In the title compound, C(14)H(15)NO(3), all non-H atoms except for those of the methyl and the disordered ethyl groupare approximately co-planar, the largest deviation from the mean plane being 0.0223?(13)?Å at the N atom. In the crystal, the packing of mol-ecules through weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions leads to the formation of layers parallel to bc plane. Within these layers, there exist slipped ?-? stacking inter-actions between symmetry-related fused rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.527?(3) and 3.554?(3), slippage = 0.988 and 1.011?Å, respectively]. One ethyl group is disordered over two sets of sites with site-occupation factors of 0.54 and 0.46.

Project description:In the title compound, C16H12N2O3, the 2H-chromene moiety is essentially planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of the nine constituent atoms from the mean plane of 0.0093 Å, and makes a dihedral angle of 76.84 (3)° with the pendant phenyl ring. An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond helps to determine the conformation of the side chain. In the crystal, N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules, forming [100] chains.

Project description:In the title compound, C(27)H(22)N(2)O(4), the dihedral angles between the central benzene ring and the cyano-benzene ring and the 2H-coumarin ring system (r.m.s. deviation = 0.014 Å) are 22.95 (11) and 75.59 (8)°, respectively. Both terminal C atoms of the pendant diethyl-amino group lie to the same side of the coumarin ring system [deviations = 1.366 (2) and 1.266 (2) Å]. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and a C-H⋯π inter-action, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C(19)H(14)O(4), was prepared by the reaction of 2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-acyl chloride with cinnamic alcohol. The whole mol-ecule is not planar, the dihedral angle between the planes of coumarin and benzene rings being 13.94?(4)°, but the plane of the coumarin ring and that of the ester group are almost coplanar, making a dihedral angle of 2.9?(1)°. Project description:In the structures of the two title coumarin derivatives, C14H12O6, (1), and C20H16O6, (2), one with acetate and the other with pent-4-ynoate substituents, both the coumarin rings are almost planar. In (1), both acetate substituents are significantly rotated out of the coumarin plane to minimize steric repulsions. One acetate substituent is disordered over two equivalent conformations, with occupancies of 0.755?(17) and 0.245?(17). In (2), there are two pent-4-ynoate substituents, the C C group of one being disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.55?(2) and 0.45?(2). One of the pent-4-ynoate substituents is in an extended conformation, while the other is in a bent conformation. In this derivative, the planar part of both pent-4-ynoate substituents deviate from the coumarin plane. The packing of (1) is dominated by ?-? stacking involving the coumarin rings and weak C-H?O contacts link the parallel stacks in the [101] direction. In contrast, in (2) the packing is dominated by R 2 (2)(24) hydrogen bonds, involving the acidic sp H atom and the oxo O atom, which link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The bent conformation of one of the pent-4-ynoate substituents prevents the coumarin rings from engaging in ?-? stacking.

Project description:In the title compound, C(24)H(26)O(5), the 2H-chromene ring system is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.029?(2)?Å from the best-fit mean plane incorporating both rings. The dihedral angle between the 2H-chromene ring system and the benzene ring is 21.00?(1)°. In the crystal, pairs of C-H?O hydrogen bonds generate an R(2) (2)(8) ring pattern. These contacts are bolstered by weaker bifurcated C-H?O hydrogen bonds.
