ABSTRACT: In the title inner salt, C(16)H(20)N(2)O(8)·H(2)O, two of four carboxyl groups are deprotonated, while the two imine groups are protonated. The two imino-diacetate groups are located on the same side of the benzene ring plane. Extensive inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds occur in the crystal.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))[Co(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(C(7)H(4)NO(4))]·C(7)H(5)NO(4)·3H(2)O, contains one (6-carb-oxy-pyridine-2-carboxyl-ato)(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ato)cobaltate(II) anion, one phenyl-hydrazinium cation, one pyridine-2,6-dicarb-oxy-lic acid mol-ecule and three uncoordin-ated water mol-ecules, part of which are disordered. The Co(II) ion is coordinated by a pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate ion and a 6-carb-oxy-pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate ligand almost perpendicular to each other [the angle between the least-squares planes is 87.38?(4)°] and is surrounded by two O atoms and two N atoms in the equatorial plane and two O atoms in axial positions, resulting in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. There is an extensive three-dimensional network of O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the components.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(2)(C(10)H(4)O(8))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Mn(2+) ion has a slightly distorted octa-hedral N(2)O(4) coordination geometry being coordinated by one aqua O atom, two N atoms of the chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and three carboxyl O atoms from three 2,5-dicarb-oxy-benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (H(2)btec(2-)) ligands. The H(2)btec(2-) anion exhibits two different coordination modes, viz. ?(2) and ?(4). Both of the H(2)btec(2-) anions are located on special positions (inversion centers). The ?(4)-anion bridges adjacent Mn(II) atoms, forming a chain along the a axis. Adjacent chains are further bridged by ?(2)-anions, resulting in a two-dimensional layered polymer parallel to (011). In the crystal, extensive carb-oxy-carboxyl-ate O-H?O and water-carboxyl-ate O-H?O inter-actions lead to the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(H(2)O)(6)](C(16)H(8)O(8)), both the cation and anion are centrosymmetric. The Co cation displays a CoO(6) octa-hedral geometry formed by six water mol-ecules. In the anion, the two carboxyl groups are oriented at dihedral angles of 4.8?(5) and 10.4?(7)° with respect to the benzene ring. Very strong O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the protonated and deprotonated carboxylate groups occur. Neighbouring cations and anions are connected through O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The title compound, {[Mn(3)(C(10)H(5)O(7))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·H(2)O}(n), was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. Six carboxyl-ate groups of six 5-(carboxyl-atometh-oxy)benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate anions (OABDC(3-)) join three Mn(II) ions into a trinuclear centrosymmetric [Mn(3)(?(2)-COO)(6)] unit with one Mn site situated on a centre of inversion. The latter Mn(II) ion exhibits a distorted MnO(6) coordination, whereas the other Mn(II) ion has a trigonal-bipyramidal MnN(2)O(3) coordination environment resulting from three carboxylate O atoms and the two N atoms of the bipyridine ligand. Adjacent units are linked to each other by OABDC(3-) ligands into a layer parallel to (010). Within the layer, O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the uncoordinated and half-occupied water mol-ecule and the free carboxyl-ate O atoms are observed. The layers stack along [010], constructing a three-dimensional structure through ?-? inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.473?(5)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, 2C(5)H(7)N(2) (+)·C(10)H(4)O(8) (2-), the 2-amino-pyridinium (2-apyH) cation and 2,5-dicarb-oxy-benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (btcH2) anion are both nearly planar, with r.m.s. deviations of 0.015 and 0.050?Å, respectively. The angle between the latter least-squares planes is 17.68?(9)°. The overall crystal structure results from the packing of two-dimensional networks, formed by alternating 2-apyH and btcH2 linked by hydrogen bonds, parallel to (100).

Project description:The three-dimensional polymeric title compound, {[Zn(C(9)H(4)N(2)O(4))]·H(2)O}(n), contains one crystallographically independent Zn(II) atom, one fully deprotonated 1H-benzimid-azole-5,6-dicarboxyl-ate (bdc) ligand and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The Zn(II) atom is four-coordinated by three O atoms and one N atom from the bdc ligands, giving a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry. The uncoordinated water mol-ecule is bound to the main structure through a strong bdc-water N-H?O hydrogen bond, and two much weaker water-bdc O-H?O inter-actions.
