ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(3)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(2)(C(8)H(5)O(4))(2)(C(18)H(10)N(4))(2)](n), one Cu(II) atom, located on an inversion center, is hexa-coordinated and shows a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry, while the other Cu(II) atom is penta-coordinated and exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The Cu(II) atoms are bridged by isophthalate and 3-carb-oxy-benzoate ligands, forming a chain structure along the b axis. Furthermore, the chains are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a layer parallel to the ab plane.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(3)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(3)(C(14)H(8)N(4))(2)](n), one Mn atom is located on an inversion centre and is six-coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms from different benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (1,4-bdc) ligands and two phenanthrene N atoms from a dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine ligand. The other Mn atom is also six-coordinate, binding to six carboxyl-ate O atoms from different 1,4-bdc ligands. The dicarboxyl-ate groups chelate and bridge the two Mn atoms and a symmetry-related Mn atom to form a trimanganese unit. Bridging of the trinuclear Mn(II) clusters leads to a two-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title copper coordination polymer, [Cu(3)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(2)(C(8)H(5)O(4))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), was synthesized by reacting Cu(NO(3))(2), isophthalic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline under hydro-thermal conditions. The trinuclear unit presents a central almost planar CuO(4) chromophore with the cation on a symmetry center, and two symmetry-related CuN(2)O(3) groups with the metal centre in a distorted square-pyramidal environment. These units are bridged by isophthalate ligands into one-dimensional double-chain coordination polymers which are, in turn, connected by various ?-? stacking inter-actions (face-to-face distance ca 3.45?Å) and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The Zn(II) atom in the title polymeric compound, {[Zn(C(8)H(6)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), lies on a center of inversion and is coordinated by two amine N atoms and two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two 3-amino-5-carb-oxy-benzoate anions along with two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The bridging nature of the anion generates a layer motif parallel to (100). Hydrogen bonds of the N-H?O and O-H?O types exist in the structure. One H atom of the coordinated water mol-ecule and one H atom of the solvent water mol-ecule are each disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:The complete mol-ecule of the title compound, [MnCl(2)(C(18)H(10)N(4))(2)], is generated by crystallographic twofold symmetry with the Mn atom lying on the rotation axis. The Mn coordination geometry is a distorted cis-MnCl(2)N(4) octa-hedron, arising from two N,N'-bidentate dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine (DPPZ) ligands and two chloride ions. In the crystal structure, neighbouring mononuclear units pack together through ?-? contacts between the DPPZ rings [shortest centroid-centroid distance = 3.480?(2)?Å], leading to a chain-like structure along [001]. C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds complete the structure.

The Ce(III) cation is coordinated by six O atoms from carboxyl groups and two O atoms from coordinated water mol-ecules in a distorted square-anti-prismatic arrangement. Extensive O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonding occurs in the crystal structure.
