ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2C(14)H(18)N(5)O(3) (+)·C(10)H(5)O(8) (2-)·8H(2)O, contains one [H(2)ppa](+)cation, one half of an [H(2)btec](2-) anion (H(4)btec = 1,2,4,5-benzene-tetra-carb-oxy-lic acid and Hppa = 8-ethyl-5-oxo-2-piperazin-1-yl-5,8-dihydro-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine-6-carb-oxy-lic acid) that is completed by inversion symmetry and four water mol-ecules. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are connected by inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions and π-π stacking between the benzene rings of the [H(2)btec](2-) anion and the pyrimidine rings of the [H(2)ppa](+) cation [centroid-centroid distance = 3.597 (3) Å], generating a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:In the title compound, C(13)H(9)NO(8)·CH(3)OH, the main mol-ecule possesses three carb-oxy-lic acid groups, which are asymmetrically distributed around the mol-ecule core. This results in hydrogen-bonding motifs ranging from a chain to various rings. The combination of the chain motif together with a carb-oxy-lic dimer R(2) (2)(8) ring motif creates a ribbon of mol-ecules propagating along the c-axis direction. A second ribbon results from the combination of the chain motif together with a methanol solvent mol-ecule and carboxyl-containing R(4) (4)(12) ring motif. These two ribbons combine alternately, forming a hydrogen-bonded layer of mol-ecules parallel to (2[Formula: see text]0).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 3C(5)H(6)ClN(2) (+)·3C(8)H(5)O(4) (-)·C(8)H(6)O(4), contains three independent 2-amino-5-chloro-pyridinium cations, three independent hydrogen phthal-ate anions and one phthalic acid mol-ecule. In the crystal structure, there are two kinds of supra-molecular tapes. One is formed by two independent cations with two anions through N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Another one is formed by the other cation and anion, and the phthalic acid mol-ecule via N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These two tapes are connected by an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond, forming a double-tape structure.

Project description:In the structure of the title 2:1 proton-transfer compound, 2C12H8N3O2 (+)·C10H4O8 (2-), the 6-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecules act as proton sponges, accepting protons from pyromellitic acid. The -NO2 group of one of the 6-nitro-1,10-phenanthrolin-1-ium cations is disordered and was refined with a site-occupancy ratio of 0.624 (15):0.376 (15). Two -COOH(-COO(-)) groups of the 2,5-di-carb-oxy-terephthalate dianion are disordered and were refined with site-occupancy ratios of 0.769 (4):0.231 (4) and 0.766 (5):0.234 (5). The -NO2 group of the second cation is also disordered about a pseudo-twofold rotation axis and was refined with a site-occupancy ratio of 0.903 (3):0.097 (3). There is an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond in the anion. The phenanthroline rings of the two cations are inclined to one another by 31.3 (1)°. In the anions, considering the major components only, the carb-oxy-lic acid groups (-COOH) are inclined to the benzene ring by 17.3 (2) and 22.3 (3)°. The carboxyl-ate groups (-COO(-)) are twisted by 9.3 (2) and 13.6 (6)° with respect to the benzene ring. In the crystal, adjacent 2,5-di-carb-oxy-terephthalate anions are linked via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains propagating along [010]. The cations are attached to the chain of anions by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The chains of anions are linked by the cations, via N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming sheets parallel to (100). These layers are linked by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional structure. The Zn(II) ion exhibits a distorted tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry, being coordinated by two O atoms from the zwitterionic 8-ethyl-5-oxo-2-(piperazin-4-ium-1-yl)-5,8-dihydro-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine-6-carboxyl-ate (L) ligand, one O atom from the 5-carb-oxy-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate dianion, [Hbtc](2-), and two O atoms from two aqua ligands. In the crystal, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional structure. The crystal packing exhibits π-π inter-actions between the aromatic rings, with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.466 (3)-3.667 (3) Å.

The mean planes of the two carboxyl groups attached to the pyrazine ring at neighboring positions are twisted by 10.8?(1) and 87.9?(1)° in the complete molecule and 43.0?(1)° in the symmetry-generated molecule. The crystal packing features O-H?N hydrogen bonds, which link the mol-ecules into layers along [101].
