Project description:The title compound, C(6)H(10)N(8)S(2), was prepared by the nucleophilic substitution reaction of 5-mercapto-1-methyl-tetra-zole and dichloro-ethane. In the crystal, the mol-ecule possesses an approximate non-crystallographic twofold symmetry axis. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯N and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.448 (6), 3.5085 (5) and 3.4591 (2) Å]. The two five-membered rings form a dihedral angle of 1.9 (2)°.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via pairs of bifurcated O-H?(N,N) hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers with graph-set motif R 4 (4)(12). The dimers are linked by significant ?-? inter-actions involving inversion-related tetra-zole rings and inversion-related benzene rings, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.7376?(14) and 3.8444?(15)?Å, respectively.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mg(H(2)O)(6)](C(9)H(7)N(4)O(2)S)(2), contains one-half of a [Mg(H(2)O)(6)](2+) cation ( symmetry) and one uncoordinated 2-[(1-phenyl-1H-tetra-zol-5-yl)sulfan-yl]acetate anion. The Mg(II) cation is coordinated by six water mol-ecules, exhibiting a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination. A two-dimensional network parallel to (001) is formed via extensive hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the water mol-ecules as donors and the tetra-zole N and carboxyl-ate O atoms of the anion as acceptors. The shortest distance between two adjacent parallel benzene rings is 3.315?(2)?Å. The dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the tetra-zole ring is 40.98?(2)°.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked through O-H⋯ N and C-H⋯ O hydrogen bonds, giving infinite chains in both the [110] and [1-10] directions. Project description:The synthesis and crystal structure of a monoclinic (P21/c) polymorph of the title compound, C6H10S2N8, are reported. The mol-ecule has pseudo-twofold rotational symmetry, with the tetra-zole rings being inclined to one another by 5.50 (6)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming chains propagating along [101] and enclosing R22(20) ring motifs. The chains are linked by offset π-π inter-actions involving the tetra-zole rings [inter-centroid distances vary from 3.3567 (7) to 3.4227 (7) Å], forming layers parallel to the ac plane. The crystal structure of the triclinic polymorph (P [Formula: see text]) has been described previously [Li et al. (2011 ▸). Acta Cryst. E67, o1669].
