ABSTRACT: In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(20)H(16)N(2)O(5), the phthalimide fragments are almost planar, with r.m.s. deviations of 0.018 and 0.020?Å, and make a dihedral angle of 53.64?(3)°. The mol-ecular and crystal structures are stabilized by a weak inter-molecular C-H?O, C-H?? and C=O?? [2.883?(1)?Å] inter-actions and aromatic ?-? stacking inter-actions with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.6189?(7)?Å.

The meth-oxy C atom is close to being coplanar with its attached ring [deviation = 0.133?(2)?Å] and is oriented away from the isoindole moiety. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of C-H?O hydrogen bonds generate R(2) (2)(10) loops. Further C-H?O inter-actions lead to (010) infinite sheets and weak aromatic ?-? stacking [centroid-centroid separations = 3.6990?(10) and 3.7217?(10)?Å] is also observed.

Project description:In the title compound, C(26)H(21)N(3)O(3)S, the quinazolinyl group is essentially planar [r.m.s. deviation for the 10 non-H atoms = 0.057?Å]. The isoindoline-1,3-dione group is linked by an SCH(2)CH(2) chain to the pyrimidinyl C atom that lies between the two N atoms. Also, the phenyl group is linked by a CH(2)CH(2) chain at the N atom adjacent to the carbonyl group. This results in a conformation with these substituents lying to either side of the central quinazolinyl unit, with the former being approximately parallel [dihedral angle = 4.93?(7)°], and the phenyl group being inclined [dihedral angle = 71.61?(9)°] to the central quinazolinyl fused-ring system. In the crystal, mol-ecules are consolidated into a three-dimensional architecture by C-H?O inter-actions, involving all three carbonyl-O atoms, and ?-? inter-actions occurring between the pyrimidinyl and isoindole-benzene rings [inter-centroid distance = 3.5330?(13)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, C(16)H(13)NO(2), the 2,3-dimethyl-phenyl group and the 1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione group are essentially planar, with r.m.s. deviations of 0.006 and 0.013 Å, respectively, and are oriented at an angle of 78.19 (3)° with respect to each other. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯O inter-actions link the mol-ecules, forming a zigzag chain parallel to the b axis. Futhermore, C-H⋯π inter-actions are present between the C-H group of isoindole and the 2,3-dimethyl-phenyl benzene ring. The H atoms of the ortho-methyl group are statistically disordered over two positions. Such disorder might be related to the antagonism between intra-molecular steric repulsions and inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions.

The geometrical parameters including the geometry about the Si atom are typical. The mol-ecules form dimers via a weak C-H?O inter-action described by the graph set R(2) (2)(10). The dimers are assembled in rows stacked in the crystallographic b-axis direction via ?-? inter-actions with a 3.332?(3)?Å separation between the rows.
