ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title compound, [Dy(2)(C(15)H(12)N(3)O(2)S)(2)(NO(3))(4)]·2CH(3)OH, the two Dy(III) atoms are coordinated by two deprotonated 2-{[2-(1,3-benzothia-zol-2-yl)hydrazinyl-idene]meth-yl}-6-meth-oxy-phenol ligands and four nitrate ions, all of which are chelating. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak O-H?O inter-actions, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (010).

Project description:In the centrosymmetric binuclear complex of the title solvate, [Sm(2)(C(21)H(15)N(2)O(3))(2)(C(4)H(8)O)(2)]·2C(4)H(8)O, the Sm(III) is coordin-ated in a distorted monocapped octa-hedral geometry by four O atoms and two N atoms from two tridentate deprotonated 2-{bis-[(2-oxidobenzyl-idene)amino]-meth-yl}phenolate ligands and an O atom of a tetra-hydro-furan (THF) mol-ecule. The Sm?Sm distance in the complex is 3.8057?(4)?Å. Parts of the coordinating THF mol-ecule are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.56?(3):0.44?(3) ratio. The complex and solvent mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional structure via C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(18)H(16)N(6)·2CH(3)OH, was prepared by the reaction of 5,5'-bis-(bromo-meth-yl)-2,2'-bipyridine with imidazole. The main mol-ecule lies on an inversion center located at the mid-point of the C-C bond joining the two pyridine rings. The asymmetric unit therefore contains one half-mol-ecule and one methanol solvent mol-ecule. The dihedral angle between the pyridine and imidazole rings is 72.32 (5)°. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular O-H⋯N, C-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds contribute to the stabilization of the packing.

The hydrazine carbothio-amide moiety and one of the pyridyl rings together adopt an almost planar arrangement, with a maximum deviation of 0.052?(4)?Å for the C atom of the thio-urea moiety. There are two mol-ecules of methanol solvent per complex in the asymmetric unit. The nonconventional intra-molecular C-H?Br hydrogen bonds make the mol-ecule more rigid, whereas the conventional N-H?N and O-H?Br inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, supported with N-H?? inter-actions, establish a supra-molecular linkage among the mol-ecules in the crystal. An intermolecular C-H?O inter-action is also present.

Project description:In the crystal of the dinuclear title compound, [Cu(2)(C(13)H(13)N(2)O)(2)(ClO(4))(2)]·2CH(3)CN, the two bridging perchlorate ions chelate to the two Cu(II) atoms in a ?-O:O' fashion on opposite sides of the equatorial plane. The Cu(II) ions display a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry (in the usual 4 + 2 Jahn-Teller arrangement), each being coordinated by two O atoms from the two perchlorate ligands, and two N and O atoms from the reduced Schiff base ligand. The asymmetric unit contains two acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules. In the crystal structure, in addition to N-H?O hydrogen bonds, there are weak C-H?O inter-actions between the perchlorate O atoms and the reduced Schiff base ligand. C-H?N inter-actions are also present.
