11,20-Dihy-droxy-3-oxopregna-1,4-dien-21-oic acid monohydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(21)H(28)O(5)·H(2)O, is the hydrate of a steroid derivative and was obtained by degradation of solid prednisolone sodium phosphate. The six C atoms in ring A are nearly co-planar with a mean deviation of 0.015?Å. Rings B and C are both in chair conformations, while ring D has an envelope form. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions occur between the hy-droxy groups, carbonyl O atoms and solvent water mol-ecules, resulting in an overall three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(30)H(48)O(3), a triterpene isolated from the resin of canarium schweinfurthiiand, is an isomer of the previously reported triterpene 3α-hy-droxy-tirucalla-7,24-dien-21-oic acid [Mora et al. (2001 ▶). Acta Cryst. C57, 638-640], which crystallizes in the same trigonal space group. The title mol-ecule consists of four fused rings having chair, half-chair, half-chair and envelope conformations for rings A, B, C and D, respectively (steroid labelling). An intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(7) ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming (001) sheets.

Project description:The title compound, 0.897C(30)H(48)O(3).0.103C(30)H(47)O(2)F is a co-crystal of two triterpenes isolated from the resin of Canarium schweinfurthiiand Engl. Both triterpenes consists of four trans-fused rings having chair/half-chair/half-chair and envelope conformations. The mol-ecular conformations are stabilized by intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming rings of S(7) graph-set motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming sheets parallel to (001). All atoms. excepting the axially-oriented hydroxyl group in the major component and the equatorially-oriented fluorine atom in the minor component, are overlapping.

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(14)O(4), is an isolation product of the aerial parts of Senecio desfontanei. The acetic acid group is oriented at a dihedral angle of 48.03?(9)° with respect to the basal plane of the cyclo-hexane-1,4-diol chair. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring with an envelope conformation. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, resulting in R(3) (3)(20) ring motifs and C(2) O-H?O-H?O-H? chains. Overall, a three-dimensional polymeric network arises. A C-H?O contact is also present.

Project description:The title compound, C(20)H(28)O(3), was isolated during our investigation into the chemical composition and pharmacological activity of Centipeda cunninghamii (DC.) A. Braun & Asch. (Asteraceae). The enanti-opure compound, a diterpene with a carbon skeleton, is composed of three six- and one five-membered rings in chair, twist-boat, half-chair and envelope conformations, respectively. Each mol-ecule makes one intra- and one inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond in the crystal lattice, forming hydrogen-bonded chains along [010]. The absolute configuration of the compound was assigned on the basis of optical rotation measurements.

Project description:In the title hydrated salt, C4H12NO3 (+)·C22H25O4 (-)·H2O, seratrodast [systematic name: 7-phenyl-7-(2,4,5-trimethyl-3,6-dioxo-cyclo-hexa-1,4-dien-1-yl)hepta-noic acid] crystallized with trometamol [systematic name: 2-amino-2-(hydroxyméth-yl)propane-1,3-diol] to form a monohydrated salt form of seratrodast. The carb-oxy-lic acid group of seratrodast has transferred its proton to the amino N atom of trometamol. In the crystal, the trometamol cations are linked to the water mol-ecules and to each other by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds forming sheets parallel to (100). The seratrodast anions are linked to both sides of these sheets by O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-layer two-dimensional structure. After forming the title salt, the solubility of seratrodast was found to be greatly improved.

Project description:The unit cell of the title compound, C(7)H(6)O(4)·H(2)O, features four independent formula units; the individual carb-oxy-lic acid mol-ecules themselves are nearly planar (r.m.s. deviations = 0.0189, 0.0334, 0.0356 and 0.0441?Å). Two independent mol-ecules each form two hydrogen bonds by acid-carbonyl O-H?O inter-actions and the dimers are also nearly planar (r.m.s. deviations = 0.039 and 0.049?Å). The two independent dimers are aligned at 44.5?(1)°. Other O-H?O inter-actions involving the hy-droxy groups and water mol-ecules give rise to a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(6)O(6)·2H(2)O, was obtained by accident within a project on the synthesis of metal-organic coordination polymers by the reaction of LiOH with 2,5-dihy-droxy-terephthalic acid under solvothermal conditions. The asymmetric unit consists of half a 2,5-dihy-droxy-terephthalic acid mol-ecule located on a centre of inversion and one solvent water mol-ecule that occupies a general position. The 2,5-dihy-droxy-terephthalic acid mol-ecules are connected to the water mol-ecules via O-H?O hydrogen bonding to form a layer in the ab plane.
