ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(20)H(15)N(3)O(3)S, the two benzene rings of the biphenyl group form a dihedral angle of 40.11?(15)°. The conformation of the mol-ecule is trans-cis and is stabilized by two intra-molecular N-H?O and C-H?S hydrogen bonds. In the crystal structure, the mol-ecules are linked by weak ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.991?(2)?Å].

Project description:The benzene rings of the biphenyl group in the title compound, C(20)H(14)ClN(3)O(3)S, are nearly coplanar [maximum deviation = 0.20 (3) Å]. The mean plane of the biphenyl group forms a dihedral angle of 5.24 (7)° with the aromatic ring of the nitro-chloro-benzene group. Intra-molecular N-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds stabilize the cis-trans conformation of the mol-ecule. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds into mutually inter-woven corrugated layers parallel to (10-2).

Project description:In the title compound, C(20)H(17)N(3)OS, the dihedral angle between the benzene rings of the biphenyl fragment is 36.84 (9)°. The trans-cis geometry of the thio-urea unit is stabilized by intra-molecular N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds between the H atom of the cis thio-amide and the carbonyl O and pyridine N atoms, respectively. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds form centrosymmetric dimers extending along the b axis.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(11)N(3)O(2)S, was prepared by reaction of 2-nitro-benzenamine, KOH and 1-isothio-cyanato-benzene in an ethanol solution at room temperature. The dihedral angles formed between the thiourea plane and the phenyl rings are 61.9 and 31.0°. The dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 78.1°. In the crystal structure, there are weak inter-molecular N-H⋯S and C-H⋯S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, C(20)H(15)ClN(2)OS, the benzene rings of the biphenyl group are at an angle of 44.23 (12)°. The C(4)N(2)OS central thio-urea fragment makes dihedral angles with the benzene carbonyl and chloro-benzene rings of 55.96 (9) and 64.09 (9)°, respectively. The trans-cis geometry of the thio-urea group is stabilized by the intra-molecular hydrogen bond between the carbonyl O atom and the H atom of the cis-thio-amide. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯S and N-H⋯O inter-molecular hydrogen bonds to form one-dimensional chains along the c axis. C-H⋯π inter-actions also contribute to the stability of the mol-ecule.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(10)BrN(3)O(3)S, crystallizes as two concomitant polymorphs that differ in colour (one yellow and one colourless). Only the structure of the colourless form could be determined. The mol-ecule exists in the thio-amide form with an intra-molecular N-H?O=C hydrogen bond across the thio-urea system. Mol-ecules are linked into layers parallel to (120) by Br?O(nitro) contacts [3.103?(1)?Å], classical hydrogen bonds from the other NH function to the S atom and N(nitro)?O=C contacts. The layers are linked by weak C-H?O(nitro) hydrogen bonds to produce the observed three-dimensional network.
