Dichloridobis[4,4,5,5-tetra-methyl-2-(5-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl-?N)-2-imidazoline-1-oxyl 3-oxide-?O]copper(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [CuCl(2)(C(11)H(17)N(4)O(2))(2)], the Cu(II) ion, lying on an inversion center, is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral [Cu(N(2)O(2)Cl(2))] environment by two N,O-bidentate nitronyl nitroxide radical ligands and two trans-chloride anions. In the imidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide unit of the ligand, the four methyl groups and the C atoms to which they are bonded are disordered over two sets of sites, with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.737?(5):0.263?(5).
