ABSTRACT: The two Co(II) atoms in the title salt, [Co(H(2)O)(6)][Co(C(4)H(4)O(4)S)(2)]·4H(2)O, exist in an octa-hedral coordination environment. In the cation, the Co atom is surrounded by six water mol-ecules, and in the anion, it is bis-O,S,O'-chelated by the thio-acetate ligands. The cations, anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(12)H(11)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, the Co(II) atom lies on an inversion center and is octa-hedrally coordinated by six O atoms from four water mol-ecules and two monodentate zwitterionic 2-methyl-benzimidazolium-1,3-diacetate ligands. An intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π inter-actions between the imidazole and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.9031 (17) Å] consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, (C(4)H(12)N(2))[Co(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·4H(2)O, consists of one piperazinediium dication, one [Co(py-2,6-dc)(2)](2-) dianion (where py-2,6-dc is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate) and four water mol-ecules. The piperazinediium cation adopts a chair conformation and the Co(II) ion is six-coordinated in an N(2)O(4) environment, having a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the components, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, (C(3)H(7)N(6))(2)[Co(H(2)O)(6)][Co(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)](2)·4H(2)O, or (tataH)(2)[Co(H(2)O)(6)][Co(pydc)(2)](2)·4H(2)O (where tata is 2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-triazine and pydc is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid), was obtained by reaction of Co(NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O with the proton-transfer compound (tataH)(2)(pydc) in aqueous solution. The [Co(pydc)(2)](2-) anion is a six-coordinate Co(II) complex with a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The structure also contains hexa-aqua-cobalt(II) cations (site symmetry ), (tataH)(+) cations and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The two(pydc)(2-) ligands in each [Co(pydc)(2)](2-) anion are almost perpendicular to each other [dihedral angle between their mean planes = 82.3 (1)°]. There is extensive O-H⋯O, N-H⋯N, O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding in the structure, as well as π-π stacking between (pydc)(2-) ligands with an inter-planar distance of 3.484 (15) Å.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(4)(C(4)H(4)O(5))(4)(C(7)H(6)N(2))(8)]·20H(2)O, consists of tetra-nuclear Co(II) complexes and disordered uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The tetra-meric complex mol-ecule has symmetry. While two benzimidazole mol-ecules and a tridentate malate dianion coordinate a Co(II) ion, the carboxylate O atom from an adjacent malate dianion bridges the Co(II) ions to complete a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The tridentate malate dianion chelates the Co(II) ion, and the chelate six- and five-membered rings show half-chair and envelope configurations, respectively. A face-to-face separation of 3.494 (9) Å between parallel benzimidazole ligands indicates the existence of π-π stacking between adjacent complexes. The crystal structure also involves N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The dianion is located about an inversion center; the Mn(II) atom is coordinated by a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, a sulfonatoisophthalate group, a water mol-ecule along with two bridging water mol-ecules in an octa-hedral geometry. The cation lies on a twofold rotation axis; the Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four water mol-ecules and a chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. A partially overlapped arrangement between the bipyridine ligands and the aromatic ring of the sulfoisophthalate group of adjacent anions is observed; the distance (3.357 Å) indicates π-π stacking. Hydrogen bonds, with the water mol-ecules serving as hydrogen-bond donors, lead to a three-dimensional network architecture.
