The mol-ecule is not planar, the central six-membered ring making angles of 12.26?(10) and 44.18?(11)° with the 4-chloro-phenyl and phenyl rings, respectively. In the crystal structure, weak C-H?? inter-actions contribute to the stabilization of the packing.

Project description:The title Schiff base compound, C(22)H(28)N(2)O(4), was synthesized by the reaction of 3,4-dimethoxy-benzaldehyde and 1,4-diamino-butane in methanol. The mol-ecule is located on a center of inversion with one half-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. Both C=N double bonds are in a trans configuration. Inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title Schiff base compound, C(18)H(18)Br(2)N(2), lies across a crystallographic inversion centre and adopts an E configuration with respect to the C=N bond. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into chains along [201] through inter-molecular Br?Br inter-actions [3.3747?(3)?Å], which are significantly shorter than the sum of the van der Waals radii for Br atoms (3.70?Å). The crystal structure is further stabilized by ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance 3.6811?(11)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(18)H(14)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](NO(3))(2)·1.49H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom, lying on an inversion center, is coordinated by two N atoms from two N,N'-bis-(pyridin-3-yl-methyl-idene)benzene-1,4-diamine ligands and four water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The nitrate anion is disordered over two sets of sites, with an occupancy ratio of 0.744?(4):0.256?(4). The uncoordinated water mol-ecule is also disordered with an occupancy factor of 0.744?(4). O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds link the complex cations, nitrate anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules into a supra-molecular layer parallel to (102).

Project description:The complete molecule of the title compound, C(18)H(14)N(4), is generated by the application of a centre of inversion. The dihedral angle between the central benzene ring and the pyridine ring is 31.88 (7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are stacked in columns along the c axis and several inter-molecular π-π inter-actions are present between the six-membered rings, the shortest centroid-centroid distance being 3.937 (2) Å. The structure reported herein represents a centrosymmetric polymorph of the previously reported non-centrosymmetric (P2(1)) form [Kim et al. (2005 ▶). Bull. Korean Chem. Soc.26, 892-898].

The bpbd mol-ecules bridge the Ag atoms into a chain. Two adjacent chains are further connected by Ag?Ag inter-actions [3.1631?(8)?Å], forming a double-chain structure. A ?-? inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.758?(3)?Å] occurs between the double chains. Inter-chain C-H?O hydrogen bonds are observed.
