μ-Oxalato-κO,O:O,O-bis-[diaqua-(2,2'-bipyridyl-κN,N')zinc] bis-[2-(1H-benzotriazol-1-yl)acetate] hexa-hydrate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](C(8)H(6)N(3)O(2))(2)·6H(2)O, contains one half of the centrosymmetric binuclear cation, one anion and three water mol-ecules. In the cation, the oxalate ligand bridges two Zn(II) ions in a bis-bidentate fashion, so each Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two O atoms from the oxalate ligand, two N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral arrangement. The mean planes of the oxalate and 2,2'-bipyridine ligands form a dihedral angle of 80.0 (1)°. An extensive three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network formed by classical O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N inter-actions consolidates the crystal packing.

The Ni(II) atom displays a distorted NiN(2)O(4) octa-hedral coordination formed by one carboxyl-ate O atom, three water O atoms and two N atoms of the chelating ligand. The complete biphenyl-3,3',4,4'-tetra-carboxyl-ate ligand displays inversion symmetry and links two symmetry-related Ni(II) atoms into a binuclear complex. Neighbouring complex mol-ecules are linked through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional structure. Additional O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the lattice water mol-ecules help to consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)](ClO(4))(2)·2C(3)H(7)NO·H(2)O, contains doubly charged centrosymmetric dinuclear oxalato-bridged copper(II) complex cations, perchlorate anions, and DMF and water solvate mol-ecules. In the complex cation, the oxalate ligand is coordinated in a bis-bidentate bridging mode to the Cu atoms. Each Cu atom has a distorted tetra-gonal-bipyramidal environment, being coordinated by two N atoms of the two chelating bipy ligands and two O atoms of the doubly deprotonated oxalate anion. Pairs of perchlorate anions and water mol-ecules are linked into recta-ngles by O-H⋯O bonds in which the perchlorate O atoms act as acceptors and the water mol-ecules as donors. Project description:The polymeric title compound, {[Mn(II) (2)W(IV)(CN)(8)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·6H(2)O}(n), has a one-dimensional cyanide-bridged Mn(II)-W(IV) bimetallic assembly. The coordination geometry of the W(IV) atom is eight-coordinate square-anti-prismatic and that of each of the Mn(II) atoms is six-coordinate distorted octa-hedral. Two pairs of CN ligands of W(CN)(8) are bridged to two Mn(II) atoms, the remaining CN ligands being terminal. Each Mn(II) atom is additionally coordinated by a bidentate 2,2'-bipyridyl ligand and two water mol-ecules. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Zn(3)(C(9)H(3)O(6))(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(6)]·6H(2)O}(n), one Zn(II) atom, lying on an inversion center, is six-coordinated by two O atoms from two benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxyl-ate (btc) ligands and four water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The other Zn(II) atom is five-coordinated by two N atoms from a 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (dmbpy) ligand, two O atoms from two btc ligands and one water mol-ecule in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The compound features a one-dimensional ladder structure, with windows of ca 10.245 (1) × 15.446 (2) Å. The ladders are linked together by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions between the benzene rings and between the pyridine rings [centroid-to-centroid distances 3.858 (2) and 3.911 (3) Å, respectively] to form a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·CH(3)OH, contains one monomeric seven-coordinate cadmium complex and one methanol solvate mol-ecule. The Cd(II) atom is coordinated to two 2,2'-bipyridyl ligands via the N atoms and to two salicylate anions (Hsal(-)) via the carboxyl-ate O atoms, which act as monodentate ligand for the one and bidentate ligand for the second. The Cd(II) atom exhibits a {6 + 1} environment, approximately described as a distorted capped octa-hedron with the apical positions occupied by one of the two N atoms belonging to one bipyridyl ligand and one of the two carboxyl-ate O atoms from the monodentate Hsal(-) ligand. Two intra-molecular six-membered hydrogen-bonded rings are present, generated from inter-actions between the carboxyl-ate and hydr-oxy groups of the salicylate ligands. There is one inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-action involving the methanol solvent mol-ecule and the carboxyl-ate group from the monodentate Hsal(-) ligand. The crystal packing is governed by π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.783 (4) Å] which occur between bipyridyl ligands, by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions and by numerous van der Waals contacts.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]SO(4)·6H(2)O, was obtained unexpectedly during an attempt to synthesize a cadmium complex with bidentate bridging sulfate ligands via hydro-thermal synthesis. The Cd(II) metal ion is six-coordinated by two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two water mol-ecules, resulting in a distorted octa-hedral geometry for the metal ion. The two chelating N(2)C(2) groups are almost perpendicular to each other [dihedral angle = 86.75 (2)°]. In the crystal, the [Cd(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) complex cations join with the sulfate anions through two O(water)-H⋯O(sulfate) hydrogen bonds. These ion pairs are further inter-linked into a two-dimensional supermolecular structure via additional O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(III)(NH₃)₆]₃[Co(II)(C₂O₄)₃]₂Cl·12H₂O, was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit comprises two [Co(NH₃)₆]³⁺ cations, one located on a threefold axis and the other on a site of symmetry -3, a [Co(C₂O₄)₃]⁴⁺ anion, located on a threefold axis, one sixth of a chloride anion [disordered over two sites, one threefold (site occupancy = 0.5) and the other -3 (site occupancy (0.25)] and two water molecules. Both Co(III) centers are six-coordinated by NH₃ mol-ecules, forming [Co(NH₃)₆]³⁺ octa-hedra, with Co-N distances in the range 1.958 (2)-1.977 (3) Å. The title structure gives the first example of the [Co(C₂O₄)₃]⁴⁻ anion, with the distorted octa-hedral environment of Co(II) center formed by six O atoms from three oxalate residues. The Co-O bond lengths are 2.0817 (18) to 2.0979 (18) Å. Multiple N-H⋯O, N-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the cations, anions and water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

The crystal packing is stabilized by N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding interactions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]SO(4)·6H(2)O, the complex cations assemble into positively charged sheets parallel to (010) via inter-molecular π-π stacking inter-actions with a mean interplanar distance of 3.410 (6) along [100] and 3.465 (5) Å along [001]. The sulfate anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules are inter-connected between these layers by hydrogen bonds, forming negatively charged layers which are linked to the positive layers through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional architecture. Both the positive and negative sheets are stacked along [010] in an ⋯ABAB⋯ sequence, the A layers being shifted by 1/2a along [100] with respect to the B layers. One of the uncoordinated water molecules is equally disordered over two positions.
