Trichlorido{2-dimeth-oxy-methyl-4-methyl-6-[(quinolin-8-yl)imino-meth-yl]phenolato-κN,N',O}tin(IV).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Sn(C(20)H(19)N(2)O(3))Cl(3)], the Sn(IV) ion is surrounded by a tridentate monoanionic Schiff base and by three meridional chloride ions in a six-coordinated distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Sn-Cl bond [2.366 (2) Å] trans to nitro-gen is shorter than the others [2.438 (2) and 2.414 (2) Å]. The N-Sn-N angle [76.19 (11)°] is smaller than the O-Sn-N angle [87.89 (10)°] in the Schiff base ligand. No classical inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are observed. The crystal packing exhibits π-π stacking inter-actions, with a distance of 3.595 (2) Å between the centroids of the phenolate ring and the benzene ring of the quinoline group of inversion-related mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu2(C9H10NO2)4], is built of discrete centrosymmetric dimers. The Cu(II) atoms are each five coordinated by two deprotonated Schiff base ligands that are bonded differently to the metal atoms. Of the two phenolate O atoms, one is coordinated to one Cu(II) atom, whereas another bridges the two metal atoms. The basal plane of the square pyramid around Cu(II) atoms is formed by the imino N and phenolate O atoms of the bidentate and the monodentate/bidentate Schiff base ligands. The bridging phenolate oxygen occupies the apical position of the coordination sphere with a considerably longer Cu-O bond length. In the crystal, the dimeric mol-ecules pack relative to each other in such a way that the Cu2O2 planes of adjacent dimers are orthogonal.

The Fe(III) cation is chelated by three Schiff base ligands via three N and three O atoms, and exhibits a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. Project description:The title compound, [CoCd(C9H10NO2)3Cl2]·H2O, is a solvatomorph of the corresponding hemihydrate recently published by us [Nesterova et al. (2018 ▸). Appl. Cat. A, 560, 171-184]. The current structure reveals different cell parameters and space group compared with the published one while both are monoclinic with almost the same cell volume. The title compound is formed of discrete neutral dinuclear mol-ecules with no crystallographically imposed symmetry and water mol-ecules of crystallization. The overall geometry about the cobalt(III) ion is octa-hedral with an N3O3 environment; each ligand acts as a meridional ONO donor. The CdII coordination sphere approximates an irregular square pyramid with a chlorine atom at the apex. There is significant shortening of a Cd-O bond length to the oxygen atom of the methoxo group on one of the ligands [2.459 (3) Å] compared to the corresponding distance in the published structure [2.724 (7) Å], while other Cd-Cl/N/O bonds remain roughly the same. In the crystal lattice, the heterometallic mol-ecules, which are related by the crystallographic n-glide plane and inter-linked by weak hydrogen bonds to solvent water mol-ecules, form columns along [101]. Adjacent columns lie anti-parallel to each other.

Project description:The reaction of 4-chloro-2-(quinolin-8-yl-imino-meth-yl)phenol (HClQP) with cobalt(II) dichloride hexa-hydrate in methanol/chloro-form under solvothermal conditions yielded the title compound, [Co(C16H10ClN2O)2][CoCl3(CH3OH)]. The Co(III) atom is six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry by four N atoms and two O atoms of two tridentate HClQP ligands, which are nearly perpendicular to each other, making a dihedral angle of 86.95°. The Co(II) atom is four-coordinated by three Cl atoms and one O atom from a methanol ligand in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The crystal packing is consolidated by inter-molecular O-H?Cl, C-H?Cl and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure, in which [Co(II)Cl3(CH3OH)] anions are connected via O-H?Cl and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds into centrosymmetric dimers. Neighboring cobalt(III) complexes form dimers through C-H?O hydrogen bonds, as well as ?-? stacking [centroid-centroid distances = 3.30?(2)?Å] between the planar quinoline systems of one HClQP ligand and the phenolate ring of another.
