Project description:The title compound, C27H18O6, commonly known as phloroglucinol tribenzoate, is a standard unit for the family of benzyl ether dendrimers. The central phloroglucinol residue is close to planar, with out-of-plane distances for the three oxygen atoms of up to 0.095?(3)?Å, while the three attached benzoate groups are approximately planar. One benzoate group is twisted [C-C-O-C torsion angle = 98.2?(3)°] from the central plane, with its carbonyl O atom 2.226?(4)?Å above that plane, while the other two benzoate groups are twisted in the opposite direction [C-C-O-C torsion angles = 24.7?(2) and 54.8?(2)°], so that their carbonyl O atoms are on the other side of, and closer to the central plane, with distances from the plane of 1.743?(4) and 1.206?(4)?Å. One benzoate group is disordered between two conformers, with occupancies of 86.9?(3) and 13.1?(3)%, related by a 143?(1)° rotation about the bond to the central benzene ring. The phenyl groups of the two conformers occupy the same space. The mol-ecule packs in the crystal with two of the three benzoate phenyl rings stacked parallel to symmetry-related counterparts, with perpendicular distances of 3.715?(5) and 3.791?(5)?Å. The parallel rings are slipped away from each other, however, with centroid-centroid distances of 4.122?(2) and 4.363?(2)?Å, respectively.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(12)H(12)O(6), contains two essentially identical mol-ecules related by a pseudo-inversion centre. The three acet-oxy groups in each mol-ecule are essentially planar and are tilted, in a regular propeller-style arrangement, with their normals oriented between 56.72?(12) and 76.35?(9)° from the normal to the mean plane of the central C(6) ring; in each mol-ecule the three carbonyl O atoms are on the same side of the C(6) ring, with the C(ring)-O-C-Me bonds in a trans conformation. The principal inter-molecular contacts appear to be C-H??-ring inter-actions; each C(6) ring has such a contact to both faces of the ring; in addition, each mol-ecule has two inter-molecular C-H?O contacts with H?O distances less than 2.55?Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C18H15N6 (3+)·3Cl(-)·2.5H2O, contains two independent (1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-tri-yl)tripyridinium cations. Both cations are approximately planar, the r.m.s. deviations of fitted non-H atoms being 0.045 and 0.051 Å. In the crystal, extensive O-H⋯Cl, O-H⋯O, N-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O inter-actions link the organic cations, Cl(-) anions and water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture. π-π stacking between the pyridine rings of adjacent cations is also observed, the centroid-to-centroid distance being 3.7578 (8) Å.

Monomolecular covalent honeycomb nanosheets produced by surface-mediated polycondensation between 1,3,5-triamino benzene and benzene-1,3,5-tricarbox aldehyde on Au(111).

Project description:Fabrication of a two-dimensional covalent network of honeycomb nanosheets comprising small 1,3,5-triamino benzene and benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxaldehyde aromatic building blocks was conducted on Au(111) in a pH-controlled aqueous solution. In situ scanning tunneling microscopy revealed a large defect-free and homogeneous honeycomb π-conjugated nanosheet at the Au(111)/liquid interface. An electrochemical potential dependence indicated that the nanosheets were the result of thermodynamic self-assembly based not only on the reaction equilibrium but also on the adsorption (partition) equilibrium, which was controlled by the building block surface coverage as a function of electrode potential.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(9)H(12)O(9)S(3), the two methanesulfonate groups re located one above and one below the ring plane. The C-O-S angle range is 119.3?(2)-121.1?(2)°. This conformation is different from that of the benzene analog 1,2,5-tris-(p-toluene-sulfonate), which is a three-legged 'table' with all fragments of the p-toluene-sulfonate on top of the benzene ring. Project description:In the asymmetric unit of title coordination polymer, {(C(16)H(36)N)[Zn(3)(C(9)H(3)O(6))(2)(OH)]·0.25H(2)O}(n), there are three independent Zn(2+) cations, two benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxyl-ate ligands and a μ(3)-bridging hydroxide group, together with a tetra-n-butyl-ammonium counter-cation and a partially occupied water molecule of solvation (occupancy 0.25). Each Zn ion is coordinated by three carboxyl-ate O atoms and one O atom from the bridging hydroxide ion, displaying a slightly distorted tetra-hedral stereochemistry [overall Zn-O range = 1.875 (3)-1.987 (2) Å]. An intra-molecular hydrogen bond involving the hydroxide H atom and a carboxyl-ate O-atom acceptor is also present in the complex unit. The bridging benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxyl-ate anions generate a three-dimensional framework structure.

Project description:During the crystallization of the title compound, 4C(3)H(5)N(2) (+)·C(4)H(12)N(2) (+)·2C(9)H(3)O(6) (3-)·2H(2)O, the acidic protons were transferred to the imidazole and piperazine N atoms, forming the final 4:1:2:2 hydrated mixed salt. The mean planes of the three carboxyl-ate groups in the anion are twisted with respect to the the central benzene ring, making dihedral angles of 13.5?(1), 14.5?(1) and 16.9?(1)°. In the crystal, the component ions are linked into a three-dimensional network by a combination of inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. Further stabilization is provided by ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.393?(2)?Å and weak C=O?? inter-actions [O-centroid = 3.363?(2)?Å].
