ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(10)H(24)N(4) (2+)·2C(24)H(20)B(-)·2C(3)H(6)O, crystallizes with two acetone solvent mol-ecules per asymmetric unit. In the dication, both amidinium units are twisted about the central C-C single bond by 63.8?(3)° and the positive charges are delocalized over both N-C-N planes.

Project description:The title compound, C(34)H(40)N(2)O(4)·2C(3)H(7)NO, was synthesized by the Mannich condensation of ethane-diamine, formaldehyde and p-cresol. In the crystal, the tetra-phenol mol-ecule is arranged around an inversion center. The mol-ecule and the dimethyl-formamide solvate are linked through an O-H?O hydrogen bond. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond occurs in the tetra-phenol mol-ecule, which may influence the mol-ecular confomation. Futhermore, C-H?O and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7081?(14)?Å] stabilize the crystal packing, building a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title solvate, C(30)H(16)N(4)S(4)·2CHCl(3), contains one half-molecule of tetrakis(2-benzothiazolyl)ethene, the complete molecule being generated by inversion symmetry, and one molecule of chloroform. Pairs of the benzothia-zole rings attached to the same carbon atom are almost perpendicular to each other, with an angle between planes of 85.74 (4)°. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯N and C-H⋯Cl interactions generate a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The complete molecule of title compound, C(58)H(58)P(4), is generated by a crystallographic twofold rotation axis that passes through the center of the C(methine)-C(methine) bond of length 1.582?(4)?Å. The C-P bond lengths are 1.8824?(19) and 1.8991?(19)?Å. The P-C-P angle of 109.69?(9)° is essentially equal to the expected value of 109.5° for a tetra-hedral C atom. Although the C(methine)-P-C(aromatic) bond angles range from 102.67?(9) to 107.04?(9)°, the C(aromatic)-P-C(aromatic) bond angles of 96.72?(9) and 97.29?(9)° are significantly smaller. The steric demands of the o-tolyl groups cause deviations from the bond lengths and angles reported for its phenyl analog.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(2)Br(2)(dppe)(3)]·2CH(3)COCH(3) [dppe is 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)-ethane, C(26)H(24)P(2)], the two Cu centers are bridged by a dppe ligand and each metal center carries one chelating dppe unit, with the fourth coordination site available for the Br(-) anion. The mol-ecule is centrosymmetric, with the center of symmetry located between the methyl-ene C atoms of the bridging dppe ligand. The crystal structure is stabilized by intra-molecular C-H?Br hydrogen bonds and inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.2055?(1)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, C(24)H(56)N(4)P(2), the distance between the P atoms [2.2988 (8) and 2.3013 (13) Å in the major and minor occupancy components, respectively] is one of the longest reported for uncoordinated diphosphanes. The whole mol-ecule is disordered over two positions with site-occupation factors of 0.6447 (8) and 0.3553 (8). The structure adopts the synperiplanar conformation in the solid state [N-P-P-N torsion angle = 14.7 (5)°].

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(5)](ClO(4))(4), an ethyl-enediamine mol-ecule bridges two bis-(ethyl-enediamine)-zinc units; the five-coordinate Zn atoms show a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry that is distorted towards square-pyramidal (that of one Zn atom is distorted by 12% and that of the other by 34%). The perchlorate ions are all disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The cation inter-acts weakly with the anion by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Hf(C(11)H(10)NO)(4)]·2C(3)H(7)NO, the Hf(IV) atom is coordinated by four N,O-donating bidentate 5,7-dimethyl-8-quinolino-late (Ox(-)) ligands arranged to give a distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination polyhedron. The average Hf-O and Hf-N distances are 2.098 and 2.298?Å, respectively, and the average O-Hf-N bite angle is 70.2°. The crystal packing is controlled by ?-? inter-actions between Ox(-) ligands of neighbouring mol-ecules, giving rise to a three-dimensional supra-molecular grid network. The inter-planar distances vary from 3.441?(1) to 3.509?(1)?Å, while the centroid-centroid distances vary from 3.688?(2) to 3.759?(12)?Å. A non-classical C-H?O hydrogen bond is observed between the complex and one of the solvate mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, (C(2)H(10)N(2))[Ni(C(16)H(14)N(2)O(2))](4)(ClO(4))(2)·C(3)H(7)NO, crystallizes with four Ni(salen) mol-ecules {salen is 2,2'-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolate}, one ethyl-enediammonium cation (actually two half-cations, each located on a center of inversion), two perchlorate anions and one dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. Each Ni(II) cation in the Ni(salen) complex is four-coordinated by two imine N atoms and two phenolate O atoms from the tetra-dentate ligand. The Ni(salen) units form parallel slipped stacks with Ni?Ni separations of 3.4541?(4) and 3.6442?(6)?Å. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between the ammonium H atoms and the perchlorate and salen O atoms, which generate a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C4H12P2S2)2]BF4, both diphosphine di-sulfide mol-ecules bind to the Cu(I) atom, as chelating ligands via the S atoms, forming a monovalent cation with a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination around the Cu(I) atom. The average Cu-S distance is 2.350 (15) Å, with small but possibly significant differences within each chelate ring. Ligand P=S distances average 1.964 (3) Å, and the P-P distances are 2.2262 (13) and 2.2166 (14) Å. The ligand chelate rings are twisted in opposite directions, with one in the λ and one in the δ configuration. Although the anisotropic displacement parameters of the F atoms of the anion are quite large compared to that of the B atom, difference Fourier syntheses indicate only one set of sites for the F atoms. In the crystal, possible C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds may stabilize the orientation. The B-F distances, uncorrected for libration, average 1.359 (6) Å.
