Diaqua-bis-(2,2'-bi-1H-imidazole)-man-ganese(II) benzene-1,4-di-carboxyl-ate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(C(6)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](C(8)H(4)O(4)), contains one-half each of the centrosymmetric cation and anion. The Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms [Mn-N = 2.2168?(14) and 2.2407?(14)?Å] from two 2,2'-biimidazole ligands and two water mol-ecules [Mn-O = 2.2521?(14)?Å] in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Inter-molecular N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds consol-idate the crystal packing, which also exhibits ?-? inter-actions between five-membered rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.409?(2)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, C(7)H(8)N(2)O(4)·H(2)O, the imidazole N atom is protonated and one of the carboxyl-ate groups is deprontonated, forming a zwitterion. The two carboxyl groups are are approximately coplanar with the imidazole ring [O-C-C-C torsion angles = -176.8?(2) and 2.9?(4)° for one group and -4.6?(3) and 176.4?(2)° for the other] and have an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond between them. The water mol-ecule is linked to the organic mol-ecules via an N-H?O hydrogen bonds. Inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds are found in the crystal structure.

The cation is six-coordinated by two N atoms and two O atoms from one H(4)pbidc(2-) anion and two water O atoms in a considerably distorted octa-hedral coordination. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked through O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title organic salt, 6C(3)H(10)N(+)·C(10)H(2)O(8) (4-)·C(10)H(4)O(8) (2-)·4H(2)O, contains seven independent entities in the asymmetric unit which comprises three propyl-ammonium cations, two water mol-ecules, half a 2,5-dicarb-oxy-benzene-1,4-carboxyl-ate dianion (H(2)btc(2-)) and half a benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra-carboxyl-ate tetra-anion (btc(4-)), the latter two anions being located about centres of inversion. One of the water mol-ecules is disordered over two positions in a 0.55 (2):0.45 (2) ratio. The combination of mol-ecular ions and water mol-ecules results in an extensive and complex three-dimensional network of hydrogen bonds, the network being made up of nine unique N-H⋯O inter-actions between the ammonium cations and the anions, as well as four unique O-H⋯O inter-actions between the water mol-ecules and the anions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ag(3)Yb(C(5)HN(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), contains three Ag(I) ions, one Yb(III) ion, two imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and two coordinating water mol-ecules. The Yb(III) atom is eight-coordinated, in a bicapped trigonal prismatic coordination geometry, by six O atoms from three imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and two coordinating water mol-ecules. The two-coordinated Ag(I) ions exhibit three types of coordination environments. One Ag(I) atom is bonded to two N atoms from two different imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands. The other two Ag(I) atoms are each coordinated by one O atom and one N atom from two different imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands. These metal coordination units are connected by bridging imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, generating a two-dimensional heterometallic layer. These layers are stacked along the a axis via O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions to generate a three-dimensional framework.
