Syn-5,10,15-Tris(dichloro-meth-yl)-5,10,15-trihy-droxy-5H-diindeno-[1,2-a:1',2'-c]fluorene dichloro-methane 0.82-solvate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(30)H(18)Cl(6)O(3)·0.82CH(2)Cl(2), consists of a slightly cup-shaped seven-ring truxene nucleus with hy-droxy and dichloro-methyl substituents at stereocenters 5R/S, 10R/S and 15R/S. C-Cl distances are in the range 1.759?(4)-1.783?(3)?Å. Solvent channels parallel to the b axis appear to be partially occupied by highly disordered dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecules, the contribution of which were removed from the refinement with the SQUEEZE procedure in PLATON [Spek (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]. Only one of the OH groups forms a hydrogen bond, which is inter-molecular to another OH group, forming centrosymmetric dimers in the crystal.

Project description:In the title compound, [PdBr(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))]·CH(2)Cl(2), the Pd(2+) ion is four-coordinated in a slightly distorted square-planar environment by two N atoms of the chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and two bromide ions. The compound displays intra-molecular C-H?Br hydrogen bonds and pairs of complex mol-ecules are assembled by inter-molecular C-H?Br hydrogen bonds. These pairs are connected by additional C-H?Br hydrogen bonds, forming a layer structure extending parallel to (011). Inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings of the ligand are also present, the shortest centroid-centroid distance being 4.090?(9)?Å.

Project description:The crystal studied of the title compound, C(7)H(9)N(2)O(4) (+)·ClO(4) (-)·C(7)H(8)N(2)O(4)·H(2)O, was found to be a racemic twin with a 0.72 (18):0.28 (18) domain ratio. The hydrazidium group is close to planar, with an r.m.s deviation of 0.105 Å; the hydrazide group deviates more from planarity, with an r.m.s deviation of 0.174 Å. In the crystal, the hydrazidium cation, hydrazide mol-ecule, perchlorate anions and water mol-ecules are linked through O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. In addition, the benzene rings of the hydrazidium and hydrazide units are connected via π-π inter-actions into infinite chains along the c axis; the centroid-centroid distances are 3.486 (3) and 3.559 (3) Å.

The benzo[c]phenanthridine ring system is essentially planar, with a mean out-of-plane deviation of 0.026?Å. A dicloromethane mol-ecule of solvation is present and located between the sheets of phenanthridine mol-ecules, preventing any significant inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding or ?-? inter-actions.

The compound displays intra-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds and pairs of complex mol-ecules are connected by inter-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. Inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions are present between the pyridine rings of the ligand, the shortest centroid-centroid distance being 4.096?(3)?Å. As a result of the electronic nature of the chelate ring, it is possible to create ?-? inter-actions to its symmetry-related counterpart [3.720?(2)?Å] and also with a pyridine ring [3.570?(3)?Å] of the bipy unit. The present structure is a redetermination of a previous structure [Vicente et al. (1997 ?). Private communication (refcode PYCXMN02). CCDC, Cambridge, England]. In the new structure refinement all H atoms were located in a difference Fourier synthesis. Their coordinates were refined freely, together with isotropic displacement parameters.

Project description:In the title complex, [Zn(C(48)H(36)N(4))]·CH(2)Cl(2), the Zn(II) atom lies on an inversion center and the dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule is disordered around an inversion center. The tolyl substituents are twisted compared to the central aromatic ring system of the porphyrin, similar to what is seen in previously published structures of this molecule [Dastidar & Goldberg (1996 ▶). Project description:The title compound, C(33)H(24)O(6)·0.17H(2)O, which is commonly known as (SR,SR,SR)-trimethyl 1,10,19-truxentricarboxyl-ate, crystallizes as a hydrate with the water mol-ecule encapsulated between three ester groups by O-H?O hydrogen bonding to two of them. The water mol-ecule site is not fully occupied in the crystal studied, with a refined site occupancy of 0.167?(5). The 27-atom ring system is approximately planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.148?(1)?Å, and the three ester substituents are all on the same side of this plane.
