ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(8)H(7)ClO(2), the carboxyl group forms a dihedral angle of 74.83?(9)° with the benzene ring plane. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into inversion dimers by pairs of O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The dimers are linked into layers parallel to the bc plane by weak C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title salt adduct, C(17)H(21)ClN(2) (2+)·2C(2)Cl(3)O(2) (-)·C(2)HCl(3)O(2), the Cl atom of the dication is disordered over two positions in a 0.915 (3):0.085 (3) ratio. The Cl atoms in the trichloroacetate anions and trichloroacetic acid molecule are also disordered, with refined site-occupation factors of 0.59 (3):0.41 (3), 0.503 (12):0.417 (12) and 0.653 (12):0.347 (12). The piperazine ring adopts a chair conformation, with puckering parameters Q(T) = 0.587 (3) Å, θ = 2.6 (2) and Φ 334 (6)°. In the crystal, neighbouring mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O, N-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, C(10)H(8)ClNO(3), the molecular conformation is stabilized by two intra-molecular hydrogen bonds. The first is a short O-H⋯O hydrogen bond within the maleamic acid unit and the second is a C-H⋯O hydrogen bond which connects the amide group with the phenyl ring. The maleamic acid unit is essentially planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.044 Å, and makes a dihedral angle of 15.2 (1)° with the phenyl ring. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into C(7) chains running [010].

In the crystal, acetic acid mol-ecules are involved in hydrogen bonding to two separate propano-ylurea mol-ecules, acting as a donor in an O-H?O inter-action and as an acceptor in two N-H?O inter-actions. Project description:The structures of the ammonium salts of phen-oxy-acetic acid, NH4 (+)·C8H6O3 (-), (I), (4-fluoro-phen-oxy)acetic acid, NH4 (+)·C8H5FO3 (-), (II), and the herbicidally active (4-chloro-2-methyl-phen-oxy)acetic acid (MCPA), NH4 (+)·C9H8ClO3 (-)·0.5H2O, (III) have been determined. All have two-dimensional layered structures based on inter-species ammonium N-H?O hydrogen-bonding associations, which give core substructures consisting primarily of conjoined cyclic motifs. The crystals of (I) and (II) are isomorphous with the core comprising R 1 (2)(5), R 1 (2)(4) and centrosymmetric R 4 (2)(8) ring motifs, giving two-dimensional layers lying parallel to (100). In (III), the water mol-ecule of solvation lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis and bridges two carboxyl O atoms in an R 4 (4)(12) hydrogen-bonded motif, creating two R 4 (3)(10) rings, which together with a conjoined centrosymmetric R 4 (2)(8) ring incorporating both ammonium cations, generate two-dimensional layers lying parallel to (100). No ?-? ring associations are present in any of the structures.

Project description:In the crystal of the title 1:1 adduct, C(8)H(7)ClO(2)·C(12)H(10)N(4), the components are linked by an O-H⋯N hydrogen bond between the carb-oxy-lic acid and one of the pyridine N atoms. In the acid, the carb-oxy-lic acid group is approximately normal to [dihedral angle = 72.9 (2)°] but twisted with respect to the plane through the benzene ring [C-C-C-O torsion angle = 25.4 (5)°]. The base is roughly planar [dihedral angle between rings = 12.66 (15)°; r.m.s. deviation of the 16 non-H atoms = 0.107 Å] and the conformations about both imine bonds are E. The dimeric aggregates are linked into a supra-molecular layer in the ab plane by C-H⋯O inter-actions.
