[2-(1-{2-[Aza-nid-yl(ethyl-sulfan-yl)methyl-idene-?N]hydrazin-1-yl-idene-?N¹}eth-yl)phenolato-?O](pyridine-?N)nickel(II).

ABSTRACT: The Ni(II) atom in the title complex, [Ni(C??H??N?OS)(C?H?N)], exists within a square-planar N?O donor set provided by N,N',O atoms of the dianionic tridentate ligand and a pyridine N atom. The maximum deviation from the ideal geometry is seen in the N-Ni-N five-membered chelate bite angle of 83.28?(12)°. The pyridine mol-ecule forms a dihedral angle of 44.43?(6)° with the N?O donor set. Supra-molecular stacks along the a axis mediated by alternating ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine and five- [centroid-centroid distance = 3.4784?(16)?Å] and six-membered [3.4633?(17)?Å] chelate rings, feature in the crystal packing.

Project description:Two independent mol-ecules comprise the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Sn(C(4)H(9))(C(13)H(12)N(3)O)Cl(2)]. The Sn atom in each is coordinated by the tridentate ligand via the phenoxide O, hydrazine N and pyridyl N atoms, forming five- and six-membered chelate rings. The approximately octa-hedral coordination geometry is completed by the ?-C atom of the n-butyl group (which is trans to the hydrazine N atom) and two mutually trans Cl atoms. Differences between the mol-ecules are evident in the relative planarity of the chelate rings and in the conformations of the n-butyl groups [C-C-C-C = 177.2?(5) and -64.4?(11)°]. Significant differences in the Sn-Cl bond lengths are related to the formation of N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, which link the mol-ecules comprising the asymmetric unit into dimeric aggregates. These are consolidated in the crystal packing by C-H?Cl contacts. The structure was refined as an inversion twin; the minor twin component is 37?(3)%.

Project description:Two pairs of independent cations and anions comprise the asymmetric unit of the title salt, C(6)H(16)NO(+)·C(9)H(8)N(3)O(2)S(2) (-). The cations are virtually superimposable and each exhibits a gauche disposition of the hy-droxy O and ammonium N atoms [the O-C-C-N torsion angles are 55.5?(3) and 57.5?(3)°]. Significant differences are seen in the mol-ecular structures of the anions as seen in the S-N-C-S [1.1?(3) and 32.9?(3)°] and C-S-N-C [-69.7?(2) and 91.4?(2)°] torsion angles. Despite the variations in conformation, intra-molecular hypervalent S?O inter-actions persist in each anion [3.078?(2) and 2.8730?(19)?Å]. In the crystal, supra-molecular double layers are formed in the bc plane, being sustained by O-H?N, N-H?O and N-H?N hydrogen bonding. These are connected along the a axis via C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The complete mol-ecule of the title hydrazine carbodi-thio-ate derivative, C32H30N4O2S4, is generated by a crystallographic twofold axis that bis-ects the di-sulfide bond. The mol-ecule is twisted about this bond with the C-S-S-C torsion angle of 90.70?(8)° indicating an orthogonal relationship between the symmetry-related halves of the mol-ecule. The conformation about the imine bond [1.282?(2)?Å] is E and there is limited delocalization of ?-electron density over the CN2C residue as there is a twist about the N-N bond [C-N-N-C torsion angle = -166.57?(15)°]. An intra-molecular hydroxyl-O-H?N(imine) hydrogen bond closes an S(6) loop. In the crystal, methyl-ene-C-H??(tol-yl) contacts assemble mol-ecules into a supra-molecular layer propagating in the ab plane: the layers stack without directional inter-actions between them. The analysis of the calculated Hirshfeld surfaces confirm the importance of H?H contacts, which contribute 46.7% of all contacts followed by H?C/C?H contacts [25.5%] reflecting, in part, the C-H??(tol-yl) contacts. The calculation of the inter-action energies confirm the importance of the dispersion term and the influence of the stabilizing H?H contacts in the inter-layer region.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C13H11N4S2)2], was obtained by the reaction of S-2-picolyldi-thio-carbazate and pyridine-2-carbaldehyde with nickel(II) acetate. The Ni(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and is bonded to four N atoms at distances of 2.037?(8) and 2.109?(9)?Å, and to two S atoms at a distance of 2.406?(3)?Å, leading to a distorted octa-hedral coordination. The angle between the mean planes of the coordinating moieties of the two symmetry-related tridentate ligands is 83.3?(2)°. In the crystal, complex mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H?S hydrogen bonds, ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.775?(9)?Å] and C-H?? inter-actions. The hydrogen-bonding inter-actions lead to the formation of layers parallel to (010); ?-? inter-actions link these layers into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title co-crystal, C(12)H(10)N(4)·2C(7)H(6)O(2), the complete 4-pyridine-aldazine mol-ecule is generated by a crystallographic centre of inversion. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected into a three component aggregate via O-H?N hydrogen bonds. As both the benzoic acid [O-C-C-C torsion angle = 174.8?(2)°] and 4-pyridine-aldazine (r.m.s. deviation of the 16 non-H atoms = 0.041?Å) mol-ecules are almost planar, the resulting three-component aggregate is essentially planar. The crystal packing comprises layers of the three-component aggregates of alternating orientation stacked along the b axis; the connections between the mol-ecules are of the types C-H?? and ?-? [pyridine-benzene centroid-centroid distance = 3.787?(4)?Å].
