ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Ni(C(35)H(29)N(3)O(3))], includes a Schiff base ligand derived from (S)-1-[(anthracen-9-yl)meth-yl]-N-(2-benz-oyl-phen-yl)pyrrolidine-2-carboxamide and glycine. The Ni(II) atom is coordinated by three N atoms [Ni-N = 1.937?(3), 1.850?(3) and 1.850?(3)?Å] and one O atom [Ni-O = 1.859?(2)?Å], resulting in a pseudo-square-planar coordination environment.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title complex, [Ni(C(30)H(29)N(3)O(5))], the Ni atom is coordinated in a distorted square-planar geometry by three N and one O atoms. The aromatic rings are oriented at dihedral angles of 29.01 (3), 79.73 (3) and 83.37 (3)°. The remaining rings adopt envelope conformations with the C and N atoms at the flap positions. Project description:In the mol-ecular structure of title compound, C(18)H(13)NO(2), the succinimide ring is orientated away from the plane of the anthracene moiety by 71.94 (4)°. The crystal structure features three different types of inter-molecular inter-actions, viz. C-H⋯O, C-H⋯π and π-π bonds. Mol-ecules along the b axis stack on each other as a result of π-π inter-actions which have a centroid-centroid distance of 3.6780 (15) Å, while C-H⋯π inter-actions are present between neigbouring stacks. Also, acting between the stacks are the C-H⋯O inter-actions between the aromatic H atoms of the anthracene and the O atoms of the succinimide.

One of the terminal methyl-sulfanyl groups was modelled as being disordered with two refined orientations that converged to occupancies of 0.809?(5) and 0.191?(5).
