ABSTRACT: In the title Schiff base, C21H14N4O4, the dihedral angle between the two nitro groups and the central benzene ring are 83.6?(5) and 2.6?(6)°. The anthracene ring system and the benzene ring make a dihedral angle of 0.7?(2)°. Intra-molecular N-H?O and C-H?N hydrogen bonds occur. In the crystal, C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules, forming chains along the b-axis direction.

Project description:The title compound, C16H16N4O7, is close to being planar, with a dihedral angle of 3.15?(11)° between the benzene rings. The meth-oxy groups at the ortho- and para-positions of the 2,4,5-tri-meth-oxy-phenyl group are almost coplanar with the ring [deviations of the C atoms = 0.017?(2) and -0.025?(2)?Å, respectively], whereas the meta-meth-oxy group deviates slightly [C-atom displacement = 0.162?(2)?Å]. Both the ortho- and para-nitro groups are close to being coplanar with their attached ring [dihedral angles = 7.81?(12) and 8.56?(11)°, respectively]. An intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the same H atom as the intra-molecular bond generate R 2 (2)(12) loops. The dimers are linked by weak C-H?O inter-actions into sheets parallel to the (10-4) plane and the sheets are stacked by ?-? inter-actions, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.5974?(14)?Å.

In each mol-ecule, an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(9)N(5)O(6), contains three nitro groups. It is prepared by the reaction of benzaldehyde 2,4-dinitro-phenyl-hydrazone with nitric oxide at ambient temperature. The imine group is nearly coplanar with the (2,4-dinitro-phen-yl)-hydrazine unit. The second benzene ring and the third nitro group are twisted away from this plane, with dihedral angles of 48.5?(3) and 15.2?(3)°, respectively. Project description:In the crystal of the title compound, C19H14N4O4, the asymmetric unit consists of two discrete mol-ecules. The C=N bonds in both mol-ecules show an E conformation. The dihedral angles between the C atoms of the 2,4-dinitrobenzene rings and the C=N-N planes are 13.52?(9) and 13.82?(9)° for the two mol-ecules. These are linked into layers via C-H?O(nitro) inter-actions with the primary inter-actions between layers being of the type C-H??, where the ?-system is the thio-phene ring.
